hey, OK first of all i'm rating this movie 8/10 because it's so much overlooked and despised, it's painful. i'm a huge fan of horror movies, and this one has a special place in my heart. i won't deny that i'm a cradle of filth groupie but the movie went so much far beyond my expectation. i can't reasonably consider it an extended music video, the horror here is social; when I first watched it, I was expecting a black metal imagery exhibition, but it's so much more than that... it's so much more than even a classic horror flick. it s a movie depicting every cardinal sins in a Edgar Poe novel way, but it surpasses this statement. you get the classical greed moral point of view, actually you ll get all you would have expected from a grand Guignol show, but the thing is this movie contains great, like awesome moments of acting, spontaneous gore, no one's feeling safe all around and it achieves it's goal; which at some point is delivering a Polansky like atmospheric level mixed with the joy of the first Peter Jackson movies - and not in the way you would have expected but in a book of shorts stories way. the more you get into the stories, the more you get sucked up into this introspective contemporary social horror. You re actually looking at one of the best reflective horror flicks of all time. OK, i know that i'm repetitive and kind of exited, but in my opinion Alex Chandon would have deserved at least more attentive viewers. i'm disappointed that most of the negative critics came from the cradle of filth fans, cause if satanic worshipers had a figurehead in cinema it would've been this one, in terms of ambiguous morals, screenplay troves, effectives special effects, aggressive story telling. f**k, watch this film, enjoy it, and pay some respects to this director. he deserves it way more than many others. it appears to be a B movie but is in fact a horrific deep journey into the human soul.

Cradle of Fear is a seriously twisted movie and I have to admit, probably more for the twisted folk. If you've got a sick side that can get sucked into nightmares or better yet if you enjoy your nightmares, I recommend this movie to you. It has so much potential and I think it should have a much higher rating personally, though I can see why it does not. Cradle of Filth has a history of controversial work and this is no acception. There is the issue of poor quality in sound and video that might be hurting this movies score as well, I felt like laughing at a lot of the sound effects and some of the acting. On the flip side though it gives it a unique presentation I think which is great if you get into it.The gore is just so insane and wonderful, it's probably where most of the budget went and seemed to be the overall point of the movie. The various deaths in this movie are really enjoyable and have some really sick, even imaginative ideas. I had to question why the rest of the movie was lacking if they could do such a great job with the gore, why not give it some more effort in the sound or the lighting. I could go on about the gore but really you should just see it. Cradle of Fear I think is a gem for both fans of horror or fans of Cradle of Filth and their theatrics.6/10 because of technical reasons, I want to rate purely for horror reasons but you know...

The creators of this film should be stoned. And I don't mean in the weed way. They had so much going for them: creativity, style, talent - and they had to ruin it all with one scene. The number one rule of film-making, leave alone humanity, is that you do not depict violence against those who cannot defend themselves (ie. children & animals). This movie broke that rule on the later. Did the creators actually think they were cool for depicting the disembowelment of a stray cat and the demon protagonist eating it's entrails? It wasn't necessary, and it wasn't entertaining. Those responsible for this movie shouldn't be shocked when they are ostracized by common movie buffs, to horror fans alike.

In London, Detective Pete Neilson (Edmund Dehn) is investigating several bloody and gruesome murders with all the victims connected to the trial of the serial killer Kemper (David McEwen) that is interned in the Fenham Asylum.Melissa (Emily Bouffante) has one night stand with a sick man she met in a Gothic club and while going to the house her friend Natalie (Eileen Daly) on the next morning, she has the sensation that she is surrounded by demons. Sooner she finds that she carries an offspring of the man.Emma (Emma Rice) and Sophie (Rebecca Eden) go to the house of an old man to steal his money, but their robbery becomes violent when the dweller wakes up.Nick (Louie Brownsell) has a great complex with his beloved girlfriend Nikki (Melissa Forti) because his leg was amputated in an accident. He becomes deranged, gets a leg and forces his doctor to implant it, with tragic results.Richard Neilson (Stuart Laing), the son of Detective Neilson, works in an Internet company and becomes obsessed with snuff movies in a website, where the user can select the means of killing the victim, losing his job. When the site vanishes, Richard seeks information finding the truth about the movies."Cradle of Fear" is a collection of four original, erotic and gory horror tales. Using great special effects, performances and music score, sexy actresses and lots of blood, I liked very much this surprisingly good B-movie, but the Satanism used to entwine the four tales with the investigation of Detective Neilson does not work very well and is the weak part of the tales. The first story is certainly the best one, but I was really impressed with the excellent special effects that in many cases gives the sensation that the violence of the scene is for real. My vote is seven.Title (Brazil): "Nascido do Inferno" ("Born From Hell")
