O2D I had to watch this twice and I'm still not really sure about. The second time, I saw a newer version that starts off by explaining that parts two and three sucked and this is the true sequel. While that helps a little bit, it raises as many questions as it answers. The movie starts off great.Lots of great comedy and action and lots of cameos, including the Sklar brothers as the local news team. They are by far the best part of all four movies.Even though it starts off strong, it doesn't make any sense.Toxie has a fat sidekick and we're supposed to just act like he was always there? His girlfriend is blind again too.I guess that's why they added the extra part at the beginning but if you saw the original version you would never understand what was going on.You should also watch Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD first. He's in this movie and you are just supposed to already know all about him.All that negative stuff aside, it's not really that bad.If this had been the only Toxic Avenger movie, it would have been a classic. Most people who like to watch movies in order will never even get this far, there's too much trash to wade through.
Tromafreak Holy Christmas!! what did we do to deserve this? Personally, I had given up on a watchable sequel to The Toxic Avenger, what a pleasant surprise, It makes me giddy just thinking about it. Citizen Toxie was exactly what should happen, post Terror Firmer. After the ultimate Troma experience, this was really the most logical, next step, considering Terror Firmer was about the making of a new Toxic Avenger sequel. Well, this is it...Our long-awaited (real) sequel begins with the most hilarious, most outrageous, first 30 minutes in cinema history. Upon his triumphant return, Melvin "Toxie" Ferd wipes out the diaper mafia, accidentally gets a bunch of retarded ( very special) children shot, impregnates his wife, and unknowingly falls into an alternate dimension. Not a bad warm up. It really feels like the movie has barely started. With an alternate dimension, of course, comes an alternate Toxie. Meet the Noxious Offender, sadistic, killer, crack dealer, just a flat out heel...oh yeah, did I mention, he's now in Toxie's dimension, and he's about to kill virtually, everyone in Tromaville? With most everyone now dead, and a new breed of super hero's trying to make sense of things, Tromaville, along with Toxie's wife, Sarah, belongs to The Noxious Offender. Meanwhile, in Amortville, Toxie, and his retarded (very special), new friends, are awfully concerned, they can't find their houses, there's crime everywhere, come to think of it, this is a cesspool of filth, I don't think were in Tromaville anymore. What follows is the absolute, wildest, most out of hand, unpredictable day in the history of Tromaville...I mean Amortville.Citizen Toxie is an unexpected, offensive, fast-paced, bat out of hell, but, of course, still has "that Kaufman silliness". We even got our favorites, Lemmy, Debbie, Fleishaker, even our pal, Ron Jeremy pays us a visit. A decent B-movie, not to mention, a masterpiece of a B-movie is quite refreshing, in our current decade. Too bad John Waters doesn't have Lloyd's attitude, and stop making quirky, pseudo-taboo, upbeat, comedies, like Pecker, and do what he's on this planet to do, but that's another story for another day. Citizen Toxie, unlike the first two sequels, stays true to the original, but with the same hard hitting, mean-spirited attitude of Tromeo & Juliet, and Terror Firmer. Our hero, Lloyd Kaufman gives his fans exactly what they crave, more than anyone else. If Toxie 2 and 3 depress you, and if Kaufman's most recent work excites you, and if you love the monster hero, then, Citizen Toxie will leave you in a teary-eyed stupor. Now, that's more like it!! 10/10
LoneWolfAndCub This is easily the BEST Toxic Avenger movie Troma have made. It is over the top, wrong, disgusting, racist, perverse and immoral and that's why I love it. From start to finish the movie is so funny and enjoyable you probably wished that the second and third had been the same (although the second is still pretty good in my books). I admire Lloyd Kaufman for his passion to make movies that are just so different and challenging. This isn't for prudes or snobby indie critics. This is for people who like to see a movie with no redeeming values at all. The opening scene consists of the "Diaper Mafia" raiding a special school and shooting some of the "tards" to pieces. Nice, ain't it? Along with the extreme gore (probably one of the goriest movies made) there are heaps of tits, sex, racism, masochists, transvestites and poo jokes. For those that want to be entertained for awhile I strongly recommend this movie, if not, stay far away.4/5
callanvass This is an excellent sequel, that goes incredibly way over the line, and you know what?, I absolutely loved it!. All the characters are excellent, and the story while juvenile and incredibly bizarre was awesome, plus the performances are all highly amusing!. It was often very bizarre but in a good way, and it has to be one of the goriest films I have ever seen, plus it's very well made and written for it's low budget. This is even better then the awesome original Toxic Avenger, and it had some bizarre characters (Like The Vibrator, Dolphin man etc, etc) but they all were really cool, plus I loved the final showdown between Good Toxie and Evil Toxie!. The diaper mafia at the beginning were just hilarious, and while I did feel ashamed for laughing at some things because they went way over the line, I couldn't help it! plus it's extremely creative as well. It also may be the best Troma movie I have ever seen, and the gore effects were very good for it's low budget, plus I also loved it's sleaziness. I won't say anymore because I want you to find out for yourself, all I'm going to say is it's must see for everyone (especially Troma fans!). The Direction is excellent!. Lloyd Kaufman does an excellent! Job here with very good camera work, excellent angles and keeping the film funny and at an extremely fast pace. This is definitely one of the goriest films I have ever seen. We get Ripped out tongue, tons of very bloody impaling's an old lady gets her face squished by car, a very gory baby fight in someone's belly, tons and tons of severed limbs all over the place, cut off arm;s, cut off hands, someone's dick blows up (you heard me), people sh*t themselves, ripped of b*alls, cross out the moth in back of head,2 buckets full of intestines and other goodies, so many people get there intestines ripped out in graphic detail, someone is cut in half, severed head, tons of extremely bloody gunshot wounds, buckets and buckets of blood and so incredibly much more I can't even remember!.The Acting is a lot of fun!. David Mattey is brilliant as both the Toxie's he was funny, charming, was tons of fun to watch, and he seemed to have a ball as Evil Toxie, he truly is The Toxic Avenger and I hope to see him playing Toxie once more if they do an Toxic Avenger 5!. Heidi Sjursen is great fun as both Sarah and Claire, she played it straight, and I had fun watching her, I really dug her. Paul Kyrmse is a lot of fun as Kabukiman especially when ever he got drunk, he was also fun as the evil one too. Joe Fleishaker is hilarious as the sidekick Lard Ass/Chester, and boy can he ever eat!. Michael Budinger is funny as the handicapped Junkie I loved him!. Lisa Terezakis is hilarious as Sweetie Honey and was extremely convincing. Rest of the cast are fine. Overall a must see for everyone!. ****1/2 out of 5
