Cindy and Donna are half-sisters. Cindy, the younger, is sexually curious but hesitant. Donna, however, has some miles on the clock and is happy to "experiment" and more, as is friend Karen. Mom drinks. Dad has a fling with a nubile 17-year old stripper, not to mention Donna. Etc.This 1970 movie stars unknowns and, I suspect, amateurs. The four main young women are all attractive, take their clothes off for extended periods, and writhe around a lot in preparation for simulated sex. And that's about it, really. There's no plot discernible, and no significant character development (Cindy goes from "I don't think I want to" to "Oh, alright then.") Production values are low. Acting is poor. It seems to be no more than a vehicle for showing breasts, and an occasional flash of pubic hair and, for the most part, it does so with a singular lack of eroticism.Alicia Friedland, as under-age stripper Alice, has a spectacular bosom but, sweet merciful heavens, her go-go dancing does go on and on. As a result of which, this film is not on my "Recommended" list.

If all you're looking for out of a movie is sex, sex, and more sex, then you might want to give the Crown International exploitation flick "Cindy and Donna" a try. It's not for people who want a really good, meaty story or lots of character development. However, it *is* for those who want to see a plethora of bare breasts, close-ups of bottoms and crotches, and a number of erotic sex scenes.Aptly described as the saga of one teenagers' sexual awakening, it stars Debbie Osborne as the Cindy of the title, a 17 year old who doesn't have much interest in sex yet, despite the fact that her horny older sister Donna (Nancy Ison) and equally horny friend Karen (Cheryl Powell) are having it all the time. Their mother Harriet (Sue Allen) is a drunk who's saddled with a husband, Ted (Max Manning) who continuously lusts after a topless dancer named Alice (Alice Friedland). And Donna has a boyfriend, Greg (Tom Benko) who's more than a little sleazy. While this isn't much good as a film, it's just so damn trashy that it's likely to keep a good many voyeurs watching, despite the rather slow pace. None of the acting is exactly award worthy, but it gets the job done. Osborne is reasonably appealing as Cindy. Manning is an entertaining shameless horndog and Allen chews a little scenery as the drunken mother, whose own attempt to engage in some extramarital activity doesn't go too well. Adding to the enjoyment factor are an assortment of truly cheesy pop tunes and a variable soundtrack ranging from bluegrass to rock sounds.Overall, some devotees of 70s drive-in cult cinema should be fairly satisfied with this one.Six out of 10.

Recently, I discovered a box set of "Drive-In Cult Classics" somewhere in my house, and decided to watch some. Though I didn't watch every movie on the collection, I have to say so far 1970's "Cindy & Donna" may be the worst of them. Let me just explain why: Cindy Weeks (Debbie Osbourne) is a young, inquisitive teenager who is longing to have sex, for the sake of the experience. Her best friend, Karen (Cheryl Powell) is already sexually active and, throughout the movie, convinces her that she's "GOT to try it" and "she doesn't know what she's missing". Cindy's older sister, 17-year-old Donna (Nancy Ison) is also sexually active, having sex with practically any guy she sees. Next we have the mother of the two sisters: Harriett (Sue Allen), who, in a nutshell, is old, drunk, and bitchy. Their father, Ted (Max Manning) is a fat, horny middle-aged man having an affair with a 17-year-old stripper named Alice (Alice Fredlund). * * * There's not much plot in this movie. Every two minutes there's sex scene that goes on for, usually, one long, drawn-out take. Literally, there's no different camera angles or anything. Occasionally, the camera will zoom in or out slightly, but other than that it's mostly a guy and a girl (and at one point, tow chicks, and just one girl by herself) going at it. * * * I'll try to describe the little story there is to this movie... After watching her older sister have sex, as well as her friend telling her how wonderful it is, Cindy is curious about what sex is like. So one day at the beach, while Karen is having her fun, Cindy tries having sex with a random dude she found on the beach. However, she is uncomfortable, and doesn't want to do it. Menawhile, Donna is whoring herself to a man named Greg (Tom Koben)in exchange for some weed. There's even a scene where she agrees to take naked pictures while two of Greg's friends have their way with her as well. Amongst that, the father, like I said, has an affair with a young stripper named Alice. But even during the affair he comes home late one night, walks into Donna's room, and rapes her in her sleep while Cindy secretly witnesses it. After that, the incident is never mentioned again. It all really takes off in one scene where Cindy and Karen have some lesbian sex while high on reefer. * * * Upon waking up later, Cindy decides she finally wants to have sex with a man. So, she seduces Greg. In one final, long sex scene, Cindy and Greg do the uncovered bathing suit area dance. Donna walks in on the action, freaks out, and after Greg pushes her out the front door like an asshole, accidentally wanders out into the street. All of a sudden, an oncoming car runs her over, killing her. (The car doesn't look like it stopped after running her over) Cindy witnesses the accident and lets out a shrill scream as the screen fades to white and shows stock footage of Cindy on a swing in a park. The words "the end" appear on screen and it's over. No end credits or anything. * * * Final verdict: BAD. Very bad. It gives us nothing but soft core porn and a badly written, unexpected and unacceptable ending which, personally, left me with nightmares for two weeks. So if you want practically nothing but sex, nudity, and maybe the worst ending in film history, then check it out.
