I was shopping for a stocking stuffer around Christmas and ran into this DVD at a local shopping market. I was immediately amazed at the style and color of this Film. With the name Disney you have some tough shoes to fill, but this is Animation is great!!!! I would say more so on the Cartoon network style of 2D animation but it is Beautiful!!! I was amazed to see A cartoon that puts Jesus in a "Christmas" special these days! I bet that's going against the grain of some critics!I had no idea there was a Roy P.Disney. I really hope he keeps on making Animated films this was pure eye candy !!!! Its Beautiful!!! Highlyunder rated !!! Bravo!!!!!!!!! check it out!

Awful. Just awful. Although credit to the writers managing to make this both creepy AND boring. I really don't know how to write a long enough review on this tripe without resorting to "spoilers" The worst part was alleging that Santas sack is made from the same cloth that the baby Jesus was swaddled in when he was born. That really did it for me. My 3 year old liked it for about five minutes but even she got bored (and she will sit through The Smurfs on repeat if I let her) Don't bother if you come across this, it's really badly written, animated, scored - you name it. Although the villain is mildly amusing despite his terrible repertoire......

The art style was fun. I thought the voice of Sophiana was very good. That about wraps up my positive comments. The story was predictable and lame. The music was inexcusably awful. I have to leave the room anytime my 2 year old wants to watch this. Half the time it sounds like the accompaniment (which is sparse and boring) belongs to some other song; it just doesn't feel like it matches the melody, which is also boring. Here, let me sing a bit for you...Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah....There.Yes, my 2 year old likes this, but she likes a lot of stuff, and I prefer that she watches something else. I don't want her to grow up musically crippled. I also don't want her to grow up thinking that Santa has a sack made from baby Jesus' clothes. Oh,... and I always laugh when they talk about Santa's sack. They talk about that a lot.

Santa's magic sack was made from Jesus' swaddling clothes? You can't just meld two mythological characters or themes like that. I love holiday specials and I don't mind the inevitable Christian-themed stories that appear along with the rest (Yuletide, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc.) But mixing them together in such a way is just silly and confusing for some younger viewers. I prefer holiday stories to stick with one branch of mythology or theme rather than trying to tie them together in one way or another in an attempt to give one emphasis over the other. Overall the movie was cute and my kids seemed to enjoy it for the most part, but I don't think I'll be adding this to our holiday favorites.
