arfdawg-1 The Plot."Blazing across the air waves comes America's favorite super- heroine: Chickboxer! ... finale explodes in a action-packed all-out kick boxing war (okay some guys fall down from some lame blows)! Chickboxer is a smash action epic from the creators of (three films you never heard of)". For the tiny amount of money they put into this movie I have to say it's a lot better than similar movies made today on low budgets. It's campy and intentionally funny. No nudity is a let down. But it's worth a watch. I liked the location LA shots that show the city at a different time and place.
jonroknrol If you have not witnessed this wonderous tale from visionary Scott Plummer, RUN don't walk to get your copy immediately. Shot in beautiful SVHS, an underused format in this humble reviewers personal opinion. Chickboxer includes fight scenes deemed to frightening for a stunt double, so our female lead was forced to do her own fighting. She excels at this too at the glorious conclusion...a dual to the near-death with her sinister sensei. He knocks her to the floor, but she's not down for the count...oh no! She returns to annihilate him with extreme prejudice. Isn't that what it's all about, my friends? Annihilating with extreme prejudice. In life one finds themselves in a position of doing many things with extreme prejudice, as does our heroine. Please I beg of you, watch this film classic with extreme prejudice! You will not be sorry, sport.
movieman_kev This is a horrible horrible lame ass comedy with nothing funny about it in the least. It's about two elderly unattractive women playing high school girls. One loves a TV show called "Chick Boxer" which we never actually see aside from one small snippet. It was the worst thing I've ever experienced, if you ever find yourself in Hell, the ninth circle will be playing this film on a constant unending loop. The only good scene is one of Michele Bauer at the VERY end of the picture in a scene completely unrelated to the rest of the movie in any way shape or form completely nude for absolutely no reason. But by that point you would have in all likelihood have pulled a Kurt Cobain on yourself (and by that I mean having Courtney Love come over and shoot you in the face)My Grade: F DVD Extras: Commentary by JR Bookwalter; 2 featurettes (the Chickboxer Story, James Black & Chickboxer); Stills Gallery; and Original Trailer
Jimbo-96 This campy mess has near zero entertainment value. Not only have I seen this film, I actually own one of the few available VHS copies. I am sure Michelle Bauer, who is always does a good job, does not have Chickboxer on her resume. Michelle plays a supporting role, and is on camera for about 5 minutes. Probably, she did the job during lunch hour. The leading actress and remaining cast are strictly amateurs. To anyone who writes that they have just watched the worst film ever made, I will challenge them to watch this film.Regarding the plot, the description on the video box cover is a hoot. "Blazing across the air waves comes America's favorite super-heroine: Chickboxer! ... finale explodes in a action-packed all-out kick boxing war (okay some guys fall down from some lame blows)! Chickboxer is a smash action epic from the creators of (three films you never heard of)". There is no nudity, bad language and violence is fairly tame. This film, not coming to your TV or video store, soon, or ever.
