We are not talking Oscars here. The dialogue can actually make you laugh out loud. And the star of the show is a little frumpy guy who could be selling farm supplies at local hardware store. The women are hilarious in their blatant attempt to look sexy. The most attractive female is the reporter who is much more feminine and sexy than the bustier so called sexpots. There is some action mixed in and generally it moves along well. There are some preachy moments about the need to have a good Mexico. I wouldn't recommend it but its an ok movie if you accept its a B movie, bottom line.

I was excited when this title came out on Netflix. I have enjoyed many of the drug czar productions that have come out recently especially Narcos. This one took a good opportunity and spoiled it with terrible acting and absolutely no action. They could have tried a little more to glamorize the true story. Narcos used a lot of creative license to create a compelling story with interweaved action sequences. Instead, Chapo moves painfully slow from one conversation to the next. This is an incredible story that has been boiled down to a run of the mill Mexican soap opera. I could forgive the producers if the acting wasn't so bad. Don't even get me started on the bad script. Huge disappointment.
