I watched"Cellular" recently in 2015,and I was very satisfied. This film revolves around Jessica(Kim Basinger) she was kidnapped, and she dials a random number which is Ryan's number (Chris Evans) who being coward person , he avoids helping people too .Howeve Ryan will launch in an incredible race against time to save Jessica, as well as he has no idea about what await him.The film was very amusing, exciting and entertaining. Besides i was well written, well acted and well directed. We as Moroccan people we can watch it with our parents, that's means that this movie does no include scenes which are inappropriate, so "Cellular" can be watched by all age categories.Personally I think that this film transmit an important message to boys, especially to careless boys. All in all, I really enjoyed watching this captivating film

Thank you paulsandberg from United States and Anthony Dunn from Denver, Colorado. Reading the first few reviews of this film made me think I'd been watching a different "Cellular" movie. But no, I was right. This really WAS such a bad movie and all the previous and ridiculous reviews praising it and saying how wonderful and exciting it was were clearly written by friends / partners / husbands / wives / (you get the idea) of the producers / director / cleaner (you get the idea), etc.I could only stand it for 25 minutes and gave up when he "got cut off by a bus".I liked the way all the girls at the beach were about 18 to 25, single, perfect bodies, without any guys, totally available and ready to talk to anyone. I mean, this is so much like real life. And when he jumped in his car, parked right there on the beach road, where no one else wanted to park... so much like real life.Just don't waste your time on this nonsense.

CELLULAR is one of those vapid Hollywood thrillers that think they're far cleverer than they actually are. It's one of those films screaming 'look at me, look at me!' while hitting you over the head with the 'cool' plot at the same time. This kind of gimmicky marketing stuff leaves me cold, and for the record, I much preferred PHONE BOOTH, which follows a similar premise while adding a ton more suspense and tension. CELLULAR, despite script input from genre favourite Larry Cohen, never really gels with the viewer, following well-worn genre conventions with a sometimes wearying routine touch. The script is also uneven. It's as if the writers knew that the kidnap plot was hackneyed and unbelievable, and so instead focused on the so-called 'comic' scenes: most of these involving the intensely irritating Chris Evans, who has yet to give a mature performance. Basinger, who is star billed, actually has a supporting role here, and a somewhat minor one at that. Much of the film focuses on Evans driving around and unbelievably outwitting a gang of bad guy cops. There's some cynical product placement here, along with the lowbrow humour and some frankly annoying performances (Macy is usually all right in films, but I found him as irritating as Evans in this). Statham does a wide-eyed hard man with little effort and Biel is there for bikini scenes. In the end, it's all rather bland, despite efforts at style and a super-fast pacing. Goes to show you can't have everything.

This movie is not only a solid, spellbinding thriller; it is a rare example of Hollywood taking on truly powerful forces. The issue of police brutality has gone viral since this movie was made in 2004- one can see new, horrifying examples of it every day on You Tube. What makes this film so daring, so bold, and so unique is the fact it doesn't follow the normal mainstream media mantra of ignoring police corruption. It certainly doesn't glorify the police, as so many insipid television shows and movies do. It postulates a believable premise; that these corrupt officials would resort to killing an innocent family who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Looking at the writers and the Director (who died early this year at a premature age- no cause listed that I could find), there is not much to suggest a piece of work like this. But they certainly deserve credit for exposing a very real problem and creating an entertaining drama. I highly recommend this film to everyone.
