Casanovva prior to its release was given a lot of hype but unfortunately it does not live up to all the pre-release hype. I feel Mohanlal in the role of the playboy millionaire was a miscast; he is too old for that type of a role. Despite this obvious factor he is the one who carries the movie ahead. He especially played the grieving lover part in the second half, to perfection. Sreya Saran looks gorgeous as the love interest of Lal and their chemistry is credible despite the vast age difference between the actors. Another matter to be stressed is the main negative lead by newcomer Vikramjeet Virk who plays the role of gangster leader named ''Alexi'', with cool confidence and panache. He is perfect in what was given to him and, performance wise, is able to match the veteran actor, Mohanlal. His action scenes are sleek and believable and according to the makers, Vikramjeet did all the stunts by himself; he is a promising talent as well. The foreign locales r beautiful, songs r average and the cinematography is awesome. The makers could have avoided those scenes between Lal and those ladies and i honestly cringed at those scenes. The actor himself looked a bit uncomfortable in it. Die hard Lal fans will enjoy the move. Overall, for me, this movie was a huge disappointment.

Casanovva:A stylish Flick by Roshan Andrrews. The most anticipated movie ever happened in Malayalam industry was directed by Roshan Andrrews written by Bobby&Sanjay. The movie deals about a man named Casanovva who is the owner of 'Casanovva eternal spring'which deals the international marketing of flowers.Casanovva is a man who was loved by girls&who loved girls.the main content of the film is that Casanovva's tries to catch 4 criminals. The movie is visual treatment with perfectly shot scenes& sensational&electrifying action sequence done by Alan Ameen.Jim Ganesh has done a spectacular job by creating some great visuals that will entertain you.though the storyline is not so bold the movie does not match up with it's expectations. But Casanovva sensational effort so that the crew of the film must be appreciated.in my view the casting was brilliant.i think Mohanlal is the only man who can do this character perfectly as this much.so he deserves applause. There are some who Criticises this film as this film 'harases lady community'must at least think about the movie &ask to his mind whether he could make a film like this. the well composed music&BGM shines the film more.the movie is one time worth watch and can entertain you in all sense.though it does not live up to expectations. but there is only one question that remains that does Roshan give importance to style than story line. verdict:stylish entertainer one time watch.

"Casanovva"is a stylish flick with some shabby screenplay and leaves a lot to be desired in the end. Mohanlal as the modern day mallu version of the Italian adventurer & author Giacomo Casanova shoulders the movie throughout. The playboy character wouldn't go down well with the conservative malayalee society, but i loved every bit of it, courtesy my fondness for western movies. The locations, The action scenes and the background score were all so stylish, probably the best in Malayalam movies. But what would that offer if it's all dunked in a rather poor script! And that's where Casanovva stoops as a passable affair! Well, blame it on the promotions and hype, not to mention the expectations! The music and cinematography needs special appreciation for giving us the exotic feel, dialogs in shades so rhetoric and rather inane at times, it takes irritatingly long to convince us the magic of love in the second half - should mention the magic didn't workout - and its unbelievably numb towards the end. The casting was okay, riyaz khan gets a meaty role and the others never outta place. I loved shriya saran for the first time sans skimpy outfits, the love chemistry with mohanlal was good. Boy oh boy! had it been made with suavity, the movie would have been magnificent. Fair enough, its still a watchable ride. Go fall in love...

Coming from director Rosshan Andrrews, script writers Bobby & Sanjay, starring Mohanlal and touted as the most expensive malayalam film ever made "casanova" has been the most awaited malayalam movie for a long time. The movie is one of the most stylishly made malayalam films and is a visual treat with exotic locales and some well choreographed action scenes but the movie fails big time when it comes to the script. Bobby & Sanjay coming after the mega hit "Traffic" does'nt seem to have put all their effort into this film as the script is patched up and highly inspired from the tamil movie "Engeyum Kadhal" in the second half. It is very clear that the makers have decided to put style over substance but the little substance that film has is also not good. Mohanlal does justice to his role as the stylish womanizer Casanovva but does'nt have much to do on the acting front. All in all casanovva is not for those who consider the script the most important part of the movie but it's worth a one time watch for mohanlal fans for its sheer style...
