Another day, another Bruceploitation movie and as Bruceploitation movies go, BRUCE LE'S GREATEST REVENGE isn't too shabby. It's hardly what you'd call classic entertainment but it passes the time amiably enough for fans and it features Brue Le doing all of the Bruce Lee mannerisms and quirks as he battles his way through various goons and bad guys. This film was marketed as a sequel to WAY OF THE DRAGON in America, but it's actually far closer in terms of plot to Lee's FIST OF FURY, featuring a reprise of the sign-breaking scene and a cast of Japanese villains. Ku Feng is the chief of these and gets a great end fight with Le aboard a ship which is worth the wait. Elsewhere we get Bolo Yeung as another henchman called Bull complete with long hair and an earring and Yeung is reliably entertaining as ever. BRUCE LE'S GREATEST REVENGE has pretty good production values and plenty of action to keep your mind off the shortcomings of the plot.

For those of you do not know what "bruceplotaion" is; it's a type of movie sub-genre, that exists for the soul purpose, of cashing in on Bruce Lee's death; its pretty tasteless when you get right down to it, but at least they have lots of hard-hitting, fast-paced Kung Fu action, to keep them entertaining, at least they're supposed to. The problem with this feature, is that it spends way too much time on it's generic plot (good Chinese vs. evil Japanese), and characters we don't care about, with some really lame comic-relief, thrown in to make it more tedious. This is not to say that there is no good action in this movie, as the second-half contains some good pretty good fighting, but Kung Fu fans have seen far better.

In 1972. Bruce Lee made great martial arts classic called "Way Of The Dragon". In 1978. someone decided to make
, well, let's say
a sequel. And what a movie did they make! Is it great? Original? Filled with action? Hell, No!!! They created the sickest martial arts comedy that is so incoherent, pointless and confusing that'll left you with your mouth wide open and big question mark hanging above your head! But, is it funny? Man, it's hilarious!!! I don't know if they intended to make a comedy, but if they did
then I bow my head with respect. I mean, can you imagine this scene: A guy is walking down the street and becomes surrounded with a bunch of gang-looking man. So, the leader of the gang says: "Are you Dragon Hung?" – The Guy: "So, what if I am?! The Leader: "Agh, fix him!!!", and they started a fight. What the hell was that???!! Or, some guy walks into a temple and asks if someone saw his brother, and the Buddhist priest attacks him!!! Why?!? Well, to show his strenght by flapping his hands through the air! No, really, I'm not joking! Also, many scenes were cut in the middle of the action. Some dude gets hit in a bar, he swings back
and completely different scene. You are not going to understand anything: Who is Dragon Jung or Dragon Hung; who is whose brother; what do these bad guys want or why are they fighting anyway?! And fights, that is a story for itself. Silly moves, crazy sounds and finger snaps (you'll see!). Even names of the actors are some mystery: Bruce Lea, Bruce Liu
and so on. The only familiar face is Bolo Yeung, who plays a guy called Bull, "who is strong as an elephant" (actual line from the movie!). Dubbing, story, sets, characters,
it just keeps getting better! So, what's positive about this movie? It has practically killed me! I laughed and laughed, then cried, then laughed again; than pinched myself in disbelief and continued laughing
It wasn't just funny, it was hysterical!!! Really, stomach-hurting-funny material! All you have to do is to compare this to a normal movie and you must laugh. Trust me, this one you'll never forget! Ten stars, just for being made.
