OllieSuave-007 The Pink Panther spots a little bird in the park looking for directions. When the panther noticed that it cannot fly, he teaches it, resulting in funny results. From simply being thrown in the air to making a little propeller for its beak, and from raising it with a balloon to parachuting it, the pitiful bird just couldn't fly. The panther has shown to have a lot of patience in this cartoon short, and protects it from a hungry alley cat who interfered with the flying lessons on a number of occasions. They even dodge a mean junkyard dog!You will get quite the laughs from this one, as all the action and slapstick humor pretty much sums up the cartoon. You will also get to see the panther's hidden talent of flying as well!Grade A
TheLittleSongbird Bobolink Pink is a lovely Pink Panther cartoon, if a little different to what we usually see of him, and its good points are a great many. Wasn't personally so crazy about the animation here, apart from the characters being well-sketched the colours have been far more vibrant(here it was flat-green-dominant) and it did look rushed. That said, the jazzy music is silky and allows the story to speak for itself and the theme tune, for one so iconic, still doesn't annoy even after hearing it umpteen times. Admittedly there have been funnier gags but they are funny, well-timed and not repetitive or drawn out. The most memorable of which being Pinky comparing the bird's body parts to that of a plane's and the OUT and STILL OUT signs in Pinky's eyelids when he gets knocked out from the fall. There has rarely been a sweeter-constructed story in any Pink Panther cartoon than Bobolink Pink, the entire 6 1/2 minutes are truly heart-warming and not in a way that is cloying either. It can't be seen as dull either. Pinky has been funnier, but is really cool and charming and Bobolink Pink most likely sees him at his most affectionate and that makes him even more likable than he already is. The bird is absolutely adorable and you can't help love it, the relationship between the two is what anchors Bobolink Pink and it is a very strong one. The cat is a good adversary and the dog while with limited screen time doesn't waste itself either. The very end is a weird one, with what Pinky doing not making much sense and very out of the blue, but like the rest of the cartoon is a nice one too. All in all, really sweet and heart-warming and worth watching for the two main characters and how they interact. 8/10 Bethany Cox
Atreyu_II "Bobolink Pink" is in fact a cute cartoon by the Pink Panther. At the same time it is heartwarming and sweet, but without giving up of the traditional classic humor. This time Pinky does a heroic action, like a "pay it forward" for somebody who needs it. In this case, he helps a tiny white bird that doesn't know how to fly. Pinky teaches him how to fly in several ways, all of them a failure. One of the funniest moments is when the Panther shows a plane's design to the little bird and the bird "sees those parts on him".The cutest things about this short are the bird's sounds and his slow way to move his wings. However, during this amusing journey about teaching the bird to fly, our little fellow also faces some dangerous, some «tigers and wolves»: an alley cat and a vicious dog.Just to finish my review, let me tell you that the only thing I don't like about this short is its ending with the Pink Panther flying. That's pointless and makes no sense. Other than that, I have nothing else to criticize.
ccthemovieman-1 This was a "cute" finale to the three-disc set of Pink Panther theatrical cartoons that ran from the mid '60s to the mid '70sIn this story, the Panther becomes friends with a tiny little bird, whom he spots one day carry a sign that says "South." Now that's funny: a bird who can't fly using to a sign to hitchhike his way south for the winter!Anyway, the whole story revolves around the goodhearted Pink Panther trying to teach the title guy how to fly. He tries everything and some of the stunts are funny. Nothing is here was hilarious but it was consistently amusing and you couldn't help but love this little bird. The ending was nice, too. I'm sorry to see this series end as I enjoyed them, generally speaking, very much.....more than I did when I first saw some of these 40-some years ago in the theater.
