For a Lifetime Movie for Chicks, this was very well done. Seemed like the producer of Friday Nigni Lights had a hand, based on the cinematography.

There were plenty of signs that Jeff Wright was bad news, but Susan was looking for Mr. Right and that's where she went wrong. As this movie portrays it, Jeff immediately tried to use her for sex, reached for a joint right after finally consummating their relationship, and hemmed and hawed about what to do when Susan accidentally got pregnant.Everyone put on a happy face at the wedding but things quickly went south from there.Sara Paxton is excellent here -- a stereotypically sweet blonde who naively commits to a conventional tough guy who fundamentally dislikes and disrespects women. It's an interesting true-crime story that's a bit off the beaten path. I agree with her prison therapist that Susan was the "poster child" of abused wives. However, the way she chose to kill her husband was sadistic and had nothing to do with self-defense.The film's credits tell us Wright will be eligible for parole next year. It'll be interesting to see how that turns out.I liked the creepy note on which the film ends!
