This horror remake movie is pretty predictable and it's so-so in quality. There are moments where the film is moderately entertaining and there are some fun times, but unfortunately they are far and few in between. The acting is pretty typical for this kind of film, it's not horrible but it certainly isn't that good lol. I really try not to be too hard on these kind of movies and truth be told I do enjoy some of these type of movies, but this one is not one I'd recommend unless you've already seen better ones. Lacey Chabert is pretty good in it, I've always liked her as an actress and Katie Cassidy is also pretty good as the star. And when I say pretty good I mean she didn't completely stink it up. I did really like Andrea Martin as the host mom of the sorority, she is a great actress and I liked just seeing her here, sure she didn't have a lot of good dialogue, but it was nice just to have her in the cast. I liked seeing the background and horrid childhood of the killer(s) and why they turned out to be completely crazy murderers. I didn't like how far they took some of the gore, sometimes it just simply got too graphic, I mean enough with the eyeballs lol. Overall I'd say to those looking for a good entertaining horror movie: there are worse scary movies out there to watch, and there are certainly ones that are a hell of a lot better than Black Christmas (2006). 5/10.

***SPOILERS*** Bloody re-make of the 1974 slasher flick has a jaundice affected psycho Billy Lenz, Robert Mann, brake out of a local sanitarium as cause havoc among the students of the Delta Alpha Kappa sorority that was once his home. Having been abused by his deranged mother,Karin Konoval, who hated him because of his skin color-yellow-and really wanted a girl Billy was later raped by her who later produced a girl Agnas, Dean Friss, of her own with Billy being both her brother as well as father. Revenge came soon enough with Billy killing both his mom and her boyfriend, who was impotent, and ending up being put away for life at the State's Clark Sanitarium. That's until Christmas Eve 2006 where Billy now 35 broke out and headed for the sorority house to murder and dismember, by poking out his victims eyes, everyone there. Obviously insane and delusional Billy with the help of his sister/daughter Agnas end up murdering almost all the girls at the sorority for what seems like no reason at all, they never did him or Agnas any harm, just to show how crazy that the two are. The usual blood splattering scenes you would expect in a movie like this but it being done on Christmas making it far worse then it could have been if it was done on non religious holidays like "Halloween" or "Saint Valentine Day" or "Alfonso-Scareface Al-Capone's Birthday".***SPOILERS***We get the standard or usual slasher movie ending with both Billy and Agnas coming back to life-After being killed off-to finish the very job that they both started. Only to be killed for a second time in a far more bloody and spectacular fashion. In Billy's case being impaled on a Christmas tree as part of its holidays decorations. Actress Andrea Martin who was one of the killer's victims in the original "Black Christmas" in 1974 was back again for an encore as housemother Ms. Barbara MacHenry who ended up getting brained by a falling icicle as she was trying to flee for her life from the two psycho killers.

First let me say I never heard of the original until this movie came out. When one of my friends told me to see the original, and pass this trash up. Well I took a chance and bought the original, it was money well spent. This re-make however is more comedy than horror. I did like how they had more of a back story of who Billy and Agnes are. They are related, but they are not brother and sister. The movie takes place in different stages in Billy's life, abused as a child and locked in the attic. The re-make of Black Christmas is not what I thought it would be. It is a let down to horror fans who love old-school horror. It is one of today's typical horror movies, gore, dumb chicks, and a weak plot. If you want to see a great Christmas scary movie rent the 1974 DVD of Black Christmas. It is a great movie and it will keep U guessing til the end on who might me the killer.

There's a running eyeball motif throughout this revamp/reimaging of Bob Clark's much revered culter of the same name (1974), after sitting through it you may, like me, feel like extracting your own eyeballs and playing ping-pong with them! Bunch of pretty sorority girls get menaced and mangled by a deranged killer who has come home for Christmas...This lacks everything that made Bob Clark's film so effective. The less is more approach has gone, thus there is very little suspense, and in place is a gigantic back story for the killer. The characterisation of the girls, some acted by some very capable actresses, is practically non existent, so very little emotional heft to draw you into a state of caring for them. There's some good gore on show, but since tonally the pic is all over the place, it's never once scary or ironically funny.A poor show all round. 3/10
