After learning about this film a wee while ago I thought I'd give it a try as I enjoy the mockumentary/"lost footage found" films, although when part of a film's title is "Bigfoot" I do find it hard to take it 100% seriously. However, I kept an open mind, watched a trailer for it, and decided to give it a go. That was a mistake really as the film was a bit of a waste of time.If only we had the power of hindsight.I will admit that it is a pretty common genre now with more and more of these "lost footage found" films popping up all over the place, BUT occasionally you do get a wee gem every now and then e.g. The Tunnel, Grave Encounters, and REC. Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes is not one of those wee gems, though, and while it's not an awful movie, it is quite uneventful and, well, pretty boring really. There isn't much of an atmosphere to talk about (although some of the sounds for the strange noises are done well enough), the crew just seem to do nothing but bicker and argue (which becomes tiresome), some of the acting is a bit dodgy and over-the-top, and the ending is somewhat ridiculous. It's different, but ridiculous all the same. This movie is actually on a similar level to Willow Creek (which could have been SO much better as well if it didn't take so long to get going), and if you told me to suggest between either Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes or Willow Creek, I'd suggest Willow Creek.Like I say, though, there's not that much difference between the two.If you enjoy mockumentaries/"lost footage found" films, then you can give this a go, but there are MUCH better films of this genre out there so don't say you weren't warned.

Yeah,. yet another Big foot movie, which was made in the same year, almost came out at the same yime as well. I am Clad I saw the other before this one.I actually enjoyed this one much more then Bigfoot County (2012), This had bit more of a plot to it and even filmed better.I found the start of the movie very funny, there were really cool funny jokes that made me laugh out loud. There were very likable characters in this movie, you care for at all times, the movie dose not break any new grounds, in this found footage genre.I found that this movie flowed really well, with a lot of action in the movie, there were some good decent images of the creature, I say!But we never fully see the creature at all but we do see bit of the creature, we never really know if ig a who or what. There some decent effect in this movie, which I really liked and there were some bloody moment in here and there, but don't expected a bloodbath or anything really gory.I maybe I liked this movie more then I should ,cause of Bigfoot County (2012), which is much worse then this movie.I going to give this movie 4 no, I give it 5 out of 10

I watched the movie, in hopes of seeing something interesting about Bigfoots, and anything at all on the Lost Coast, and I was wildly disappointed. Wildly bad acting and no effort at all to put forth an interesting plot line or anything different from the usual bloodbath that is spooky movie material for pretty much every scary movie I've seen in 20 years. If I wanted simply to see a bloodbath like situation, I could always just upend a bottle of catchup. The topic of Bigfoot is so wildly interesting to so many Americans, you would think someone would take making a scary movie about the creatures seriously. Oh well! If anything, at least The Lost Coast started a new trend, the blending of more than one genre in a single movie, that is, Bigfoot and Rosemary's Baby.

They probably spent more money on this than the Blair Witch Project and yet they couldn't get one good actor. Every one of these reality documentary movies suck. The actors in this movie try so hard to act like they're not act acting.........Fail. You can actually here something approaching when they are supposedly in the middle of no where and the suspense builds and then a car drives by at night with headlights on behind them. They don't acknowledge it of course cause they are supposedly in the middle of no where . Oops! Then later on there seems to be no way out and there trapped in the Forrest, but why not use the highway that was located about 100 ft from their cabin area? .......come on. When they screened the movie before the release did they actually just look at one another and say screw it. I thought maybe the movie would redeem itself by actually showing a cool dead Bigfoot or something on camera but nope just garbage. Then you find out not only is there Bigfoot walking around in the Forrest, but there is a hoofed creature at the end...........so dumb. Then one dude killed himself, I'm actually wondering if that was real footage though? Cause I would of probably offed myself watching the play back of this horrible movie I was apart of. I was actually really scared at one point while watching this movie, then I realized I have a free red box code so I didn't feel so scared that I wasted a $1.30.
