The central joke of this Rob Schneider movie is prison rape. He plays Stan, a man that gets 3 years in jail, but has 6 months before going to prison. So he hires The Master to teach him how to protect himself in prison. Stan also has hot wife Mindy whom says she'll wait for him. Some of the funnier scenes are with the Master and his training and his smokes.Once Stan gets to prison he gets an offer from the warden for an early release. Meanwhile, he beats up the biggest, baddest guys there, and soon becomes the most respected, even though he's so little. He even bans rape while there. Hijinks ensue in jail and will Stan turn on his new friends? FINAL VERDICT: If you like gross jokes, then this is up your alley

I know it may sound crazy, but I thought this was one of the best comedies I've seen. I don't see how there's not more of an interest in this movie to be honest.Well the movie definitely plays of Rob Schneider's fear of anal rape, which makes for a hilarious setup. The interactions between Schneider and "the master" are hilarious. David Carradine can really do about anything. He was incredible in Kill Bill and he plays this part perfectly as well. All I can say is if you watch this movie and don't laugh you might need to get your sense of humor checked out. That or you're too young and you shouldn't be watching it anyway!

Now before watching this movie and seeing the trailer, I thought it was gonna be another typical unfunny Rob Scheidner movie with a lot of dirty and childish jokes, but then I watched the movie and I was surprised. It was actually pretty good and it had many funny parts. Another thing that I liked about in this movie, is Scheinder's character- Big Stan. This time Rob wasn't a weirdo but he felt like a real person and his acting was pretty good in this. The movie is basically a comedy, revenge theme centering on one man's fear of getting raped in prison. There are not really any 'roll on the floor' moments but the film isn't totally void of its' comedic moments and most will enjoy Rob beating the crap out of everyone. Its also somewhat more serious than his previous films and thats a good thing. It worked in this film. The fight scenes were great. The movie changes is somewhat different in the first half and second half. The first half was him preparing to go to prison (going to court, training with The Master, talking to his wife). The second half deals with a comic prison story. Rob Schneider made the film very entertaining, as the story is very interesting. He also makes you laugh in weird ways. There are quite some of funny moments, the practise sessions, the fights & changes in the prison & lots more. This film didn't make it in the theatres in the and I feel that it should have. IMO it was much better than Deuce Biggolo: European Giggilo.

As a rewatch (06/15/18') Big Stan remains an entertaining film. Although the film is very silly and unrealistic, that was mainly the point, At a certain point, we get used to it and it becomes much more engaging. Feeling as if critics were far too harsh on this film and expected something completely different. Years later, this film reminds and is quite similar to 2015's Get Hard starring Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart.

Rob Schneider proved his mettle with this movie. Not only did he act with perfect comedic timing, but directed the flick as well!! I first started watching his work on SNL like everyone else, but grew to love it when he did "Deuce Bigalow" movies. Those movies I could watch over and over again and "Big Stan" is no different. For me, it takes true comedic talent to make me actually laugh out loud and Rob Schneider delivers. Every time.Having the late, great David Carradine in this flick is just priceless. Carradine also delivers perfectly as "The Master". He has always been a joy to watch. He proves he can do comedy as well as drama and action movies. Loved watching him in this and only made me sad at his passing all the more.I would really love to see more trivia on this great flick, but more comments as well.I recommend this movie to anyone who just wants to laugh!
