I went to see this movie being a bit skeptical, since most projects the people from the TV series "friends" are involved in always seems to be quite a failure. But anyway I was looking quite forward to it since David Schwimmer is my favorite actor out of "friends". I was very happy when I saw that Schwimmer's role in this movie is not far from the character he plays in "Friends". Not that he is Ross in this movie, but he's so believable. And he pulls this one of so perfect! The movie is well produced, has intelligent black humor, and the storyline will keep you interested all the way through. It must be one of my top 5 surprisingly good movies watched this year. I just love when you don't have any expectation to a movie, and it then blows you away. This movie can do that.I gave it an 8 since there is a certain point in the movie that feels a bit long, but when I think about it now it's probably just because the rest of the movie is so entertaining and fun.

An unemployed teacher (good performance by David Schwimmer) tries to find a way to earn money so he can support his family, but ends up in a messy crime with his two accidental "comrads" (master of comedy Simon Pegg and beautiful Alice Eve). This is the plot for a brilliant black comedy made by French director Jean-Baptiste Andrea. And by brilliant, I mean exactly that.Thought the plot may not seem that interesting, Andrea directs a great story, combining effectively resources form comedy, black humor, and even suspense. the result is a brilliant black comedy, perhaps the best of its year, unfortunately underrated. This is a totally worth-watching film. But if you wanna see "Ross" or a simple comedy, you won't like it. This is an intelligent film. 8 out of 10.

Hey, folks, this is a "black comedy." So what could be funnier than BIG NOTHING's execution-style slaying of a diabetic law enforcement officer by force-feeding him sugar until he convulses and croaks? Sure, I have a close relative with diabetes, and an in-law who passed away from the disease last week, but--holy moly!--this is JUST a movie: a dark spoof. Since BIG NOTHING made almost 84,000 pounds (which sure sounds like a lot of honey--oops, money) in its country of origin (the United Kingdom), BIG NOTHING 2 surely is in the offing, and the laughs will have to be even FUNNIER! Which leaves the filmmakers with a real dilemma, since all the funny people died in Part One (and Simon Pegg does not want to do another zombie flick). Therefore, since they'll need (probably lesser) replacement actors, the sick jokes must be EVEN MORE OUTRAGEOUS. Well, BN-I refers to Stephen Hawking, shows the cover of his book (A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME), and thanks him TWICE in the credits. BN-I also features a snippet from a (hopefully fake) male-on-female snuff film. Which raises the possibility of ALS jokes, wheel-chair-down-the-stairs humor, and celebrity snuff! I'd go on, but it might be construed as aiding and abetting already-warped minds.

from a plus side a good story, not overly predictable nor overly complex - a viable watch after a long day. Comparable to 'Very bad things' or 'Edmond' in its darkly comedic tragedy Big Nothing seems to be split down the middle for me...on one hand it is great as the darkly comic disaster with a fun yet uncertain plot reminding me of lock stock yet it is wrongly cast for this comparison. Imagine a younger cockier skank in the lead female role and something like of Colin Farrel's 'in bruges' character as one of the lead males resulting in an edgier take on big nothing. Not to say the comedic side of Schwimmer/Pegg (who where okay but definitely not great in Run Fatboy Run) don't work well here - they do nicely but it creates a slightly out of place lighter edge to the movie......overall i'm glad i watched it - it was worthy of me writing my first IMDb review.... enjoy
