Anyone remember the old TV comedy Bewitched? This mess up has the same name and the same basic concept, but it is used as a vehicle for (this will make you laugh. Not) Will Ferrell! Yes, the story is not about a witch in the real world but about Will Ferrell failing to be funny.
In fact the entire movie was not remotely amusing.
I am not a big Nicole Kidman fan; she appears to have just one facial expression and uses it at every opportunity. This film might explain that expression - sort of confused incomprehension - since a role that maybe her agent (and the rest of us) thought would be the lead was torn away and the emphasis instead given to Ferrell (I can only think that he has some blackmail material on somebody important) to promote what should be a background character to be the lead. Want to know how bad this was - imagine a film being made of Breaking Bad with the lead role being taken by another teacher who never actually appeared in the original series.Dreadful.

maybe expectations, maybe the cast or the comparison with the legendary series are causes for the bitter impressions about the film. because only fact who remains after its end is the good intentions. and nothing else. Will Farell is far to be the best choice and Nicole Kidman remains in middle of fight for save the appearances. maybe, not the film is wrong but the idea to do it. because, like in other situations, the desire to do a remake has only childish ambition. sure, the film has a huge potential. but only if it has the right script. in the case of Bewitched, all seems be improvisation or, in few scenes, crumbs of stand up comedy. the charm of the original is definitely lost. the original cast remains so seductive than nothing could be used for replace them in memory. so, only a nice film.

Yes All The Actors including The Real Witches who play "Witches." resemble the actors and Witches of whom's roles they reprise but it's still a dumb premise. The Magic just doesn't cast the same spell that the original show's magic does. But you might still like I did in the theater but go see it to check it out on DVD.As it was heard The original surviving cast were close to doing a "Bewitched Reunion Special" But Turned it down because as Erin Murphy who played "Tabitha" had told me They were close but first Elizabeth turned it down then She did next because after looking at the Script they found out that it just wasn't very good.Which is why Elizabeth Montgomery even told the interviewer(s) at People Magazine."I'd Never do it again because it's already been done and I did it but I did hear one hysterical idea,Penny Marshal talked about remaking it with Billy Crystal and Meryl Streep and Dame Edna Everage as Endora." Yes Penny Marshal did produce this Movie.Truthfully,Stephen "Steve" G. Baer a.k.a. "Ste" of Framingham,Ma.USA

Isabel Bigelow (Nicole Kidman) leaves her daddy (Michael Caine) and the witchcraft world to live the normal life in the San Fernando Valley. She vows to stop using magic but can't seem to stop. Jack Wyatt (Will Ferrell) is a Hollywood actor trying to get back on track after a bad flop. Ritchie (Jason Schwartzman) is his agent. Their latest project is a TV remake of Bewitched. Jack runs into Isabel and gets her the role as the next Elizabeth Montgomery. There are several things wrong with this Nora Ephron film. The basic DNA is wrong. Will Ferrell has always been a lovable goof. He doesn't fit this self-obsessed Hollywood type character. Nicole Kidman is playing the character too naively. She's almost a moron and really offputting. The idea of a Hollywood TV remake could work. The problem here is that the characters are so wrong that this movie never had a chance.
