fez_monkey Pretty well done for an indie production, the film looks good, has some creepy set pieces (I don't know if I ever want to eat "the other white meat" again, and the main actress turns in a believable performance. There are a few moments when you want to yell at the screen "DON'T GO THERE!" or "CALL FOR BACKUP AND TAKE YOUR GUN OUT!" but that's the fun with genre pictures such as this. Reminded me a lot of the slasher film classics I grew up on. That said there's a brain behind the thrills, the script has fun playing with the archetypes of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, as well as turning the Three Little Pigs story on it's head (in this one the pigs are not the ones you're rooting for!) and you find yourself invested in the main character persevering. By the time she starts fighting back you're ready for some ass-kicking, the gorier the better, and Tormented does not disappoint. The ending is pretty over the top and made me laugh, but then again Michael Meyers and Jason Voorhees pretty much were superhuman killing demons so it all makes for a fun experience reminiscent of those types of films. Worth checking out if you enjoy horror and a strong female character!

trashgang Mixed emotions about this flick. Why, because the story is so strange. let me explain. It starts of with the main lead Kylie (Alysa King) being abused by a guy. She has to give him a blow job which she finally does but is being filmed. Of course , being underaged, the whole school is laughing with her and she's being bullied about it by her friends naturally. Going home her mother tells her that the thing she performed will follow her for her entire life. It's halloween night and she going to babysit. Yes, you do read it correct, from the school we do move over to the babysitting without ever returning to what happened at the party. So it's in fact two stories being used in one flick.The babysitting does take a while until the door bell goes and things go awry. From there on it turns from mediocre into a home-invasion flick. A bit of cat and mouse and a bit of stabbing with a twist towards the end.Was it that bad, not at all, a bit strange with the first 15 minutes but from then on it slowly moves into a real horror.Gore 1/5 Nudity 0,5/5 Effects 2/5 Story 2,5/5 Comedy 0/5

leeg-11446 It did have elements of already released (and some very old)thrillers/horrors like the purge, vacancy and others so nothing new. looking past some obvious blunders and somethings that didn't make any sense, I took it for what it was, a low budget horror. I must admit that I actually enjoyed the movie however that was until the last 5 minutes. What a shame, it went from a solid 6 out of 10 to a 3, maybe the writers were thinking of making a sequel. The acting wasn't to bad, the story as mentioned above has been done to death. some really poor writing pops up every now and then(some characters decisions at times are retarded). All in all it was a movie that had potential a pity about the ending what a waste.

homecoming8 A remote mansion in the woods is stalked by men wearing animal masks. Sounds kinda familiar ? Yes, the surprise hit "You're Next" but that isn't the only movie "Berkshire County" shamelessly rips off. "Halloween", "When a stranger Calls", "The Stranger" etc..The only difference is that this has to be the dullest home invasion thriller in a long time. Unconvincing characters, the only one who really shows some acting ability is the leading woman aka the obvious survivor. But she's way too old to pass for a young student. Her character is badly written and also the mayor problem for this movie: how are we supposed to care for her if she's portrayed as a brainless sl*t in the beginning ? That scene has little to do with the rest of the story except when the boy in question suddenly pops up for no reason at all halfway the story (in a remote area he just happens to drive by, really ?).But the intelligence of the viewer is questioned numerous times, for example: when in peril she finds a baseball bat but looses it instantly when she walks outside. But there's help: 2 police officers come to the rescue. But you can't put much faith in an officer who's frightened by an ordinary bear rug on the floor in a well lit room.. Needless to say, they are both killed quickly in a rather dumb way. Hardly any explanation is given to the motives of the killers. The writers must have thought: hey, that also worked for "The Strangers" ! You have to wait for almost an hour to see any blood but it's mostly bad CGI due to it's limited budget.The masks were not bad, I give you that. But the killers aren't cunning or smart and their actions are plain stupid.Once again, I was tricked by the story and the BluRay cover. And after recently having seen this and the even worse "President's Day" and "Pin-up Dolls on Ice" it's obvious there are more bad than good films in the slasher genre these days. Beware..
