fung0 It's amazing how many people want to review this as if it were the latest $200-million feature film. They need to get a grip. Clearly, this is just a short demo intended to show off its creators' capabilities. There's no real script, or attempt at a "story." It's a set of familiar characters, walking through a very traditional action situation. So it's silly to review the plot, or criticize the lack of inner meaning. On the other hand, AS a demo, this truly is devastating work. The vision of Batman, clearly based on Frank Miller's version, is vastly superior to the armored, super-powered goon we've seen in the recent feature films. And no, the ORIGINAL Batman would NEVER wear body armor. He was a "Detective," who relied on stealth, cunning and a frightening image... not on technology and brute force. True, in this short we see him holding his own in a fist-fight... but based purely on sheer determination and a believable grasp of martial-arts skills. (He's clearly out of his depth; were this to be expanded to film length, I'd hope he would face more human-sized villains.)What really stands out, though, is simply the image. The costume is perfect: the gray shirt with the simple black logo is exactly the way I've imagined it over many years of reading the comic. What made Batman stand out among super-heroes was exactly the fact that he was a MAN, and no more. Frank Miller grasped this in his brilliant graphic novels, and so does this short. If only Hollywood were paying attention...
kyle-mcdonald OK well i was on youtube and i just happen to come across this video and my first thought was. What the hell is this some guy trying to make a batman movie but my thoughts changed once i started watching it the story is actually pretty good and the guy who plays batman does it pretty well. The guy who plays the joker does an awesome job at doing it. The fight scenes in it are very well done and it is very enjoyable to watch. Also the people who played the aliens and the predators do a wonderful job at doing it. So i am sure you will not be disappointed with batman dead end and you will have a good time watching it and you will watch it over and over again. So make sure you rent or buy batman dead because it is really good.Overall score ******** out of ********** *** out of *****
gaylard-1 This is by far the most intellectual Batman film I have ever seen. Many fans of Batman may be distressed and confused by the sophisticated storyline and the deep character development but for those of us who are mature enough, this film represents the struggle between good and evil, human and alien in a darkly beautiful way. From the witty dialog to the superbly underrated acting, Batman: Dead End delivers a classic story of predator vs. prey with rhetoric. Truly, this film can only be described as Hollywood's quintessential masterpiece. One could even go so far as to say that it's mankind's greatest achievement and our greatest contribution to human civilization. If I could sacrifice both of my testicles to ensure a sequel to Batman: Dead End would one day be created, I would agree with no hesitation. You should too.
Calon Mausolos Batman Begins took the hint..this short made the three before it look worse than they did before..and I did not think that was possible. No ice skates in the bat boots..no Riddler (aka Riddilin) acting like a 6 year old who drank 2 gallons of mountain dew; despite the character he was playing was as a thinker not a spaz. Basically this made Batman look like a real person who has money to spend on toys and knows how to fight...I like it! The Koenig kid was convincing minus some bad coaching. His lines were a little off..the Joker I read growing up is more colorful. He did not write them so not his fault..but good..he looked nuts. Give this director a budget and I think he would be dangerous. If you get one..keep it gritty..keep it real..less Twister and more Oz! Angry this was not a trailer because I was looking forward to the movie.
