This was the best barbie movie ever made!I was about 8 years old when I watched this movie first time, from then it was my most favorite movie till today (today I was of 20 years!), and I don't think any barbie movie can take it's place. The songs, characters, their voices are very very outstanding I love them all very much! Barbie as magic of Pegasus and Barbie in rock in' royals are on the second in my favorites list. Barbie as princess and pauper is written in my heart as Anneliese and Erika sing "Written in your heart", this is the fact I give it 10/10. I love that movie very much! The villain, Preminger is very very funny and my most favorite villain from all the barbie movies! The animation was very peaceful also the musics, I love all the songs very much! Anneliese, Erika, Julian, Dominic and Preminger are my most favorite characters I love them all!

As a fan of Flixster, posting very short movie reviews , I seldom write postings here , although my account here is older , due to the requirements of IMDb to post critics of at least 10 paragraphs My daughter is now 4 years old and as with other young girls she is a fan of Barbie not to mention the dolls and the mini laptop she was 'gifted' from Santa Claus ! Recently a TV magazine offered at low price part of Barbie's series of CDs i.e. for the price of ca 6 Euros .as in result I have bought a part of movies I did not own. Not to mention this movie has been watched twice in one day! This is in contrast to what we persuaded our baby to watch only 1' hour per day .This is what happened also with 3 musketeers three weeks ago ! MY aim here is to add some more interested topics not found from other commenter s:-IN our version (Greek ) all the songs were really operettas . Does it happen to the original movie? This makes an outdated /backwards style of this movie - the after movie 'cut scenes' . it is as like it was performed by real actors . This makes feel even funnier considering tat all these characters are really computer animation !In contrast to other commenter I think that the scene of the 'man' who jailed the princess into the mining factory is a bit more 'R' rated

I know that, when people make a Barbie movie, they are probably thinking "This movie is going to be a classic" or "They will probably like it so much, it will become as famous as Annie". But when I saw this movie, I was sort of disappointed. I thought it actually would be a classic, but it didn't have enough songs to become a classic, and there needed to be more emotion in the story line. Still, the movie itself was nice. The only problem with it was that it didn't have the potential to be better than those smash hit Broadway movies. Broadway type movies are usually emotional and have a very very very good cast. This movie had a cast that I would give five out of ten stars, and there were only like nine songs. I hope that the next Barbie movie actually does "make it to the top".

How's this for a commentary on the music in this movie: I sometimes specifically ask my wife if she has it in the car to listen to, pushing out Duran Duran or other music from the golden age of the early 80's. I am skeptical of musicals by nature, so when I heard that the Barbie people had produced a musical, I could only imagine how shallow the music was going to be, seeing that it would be directed towards our 7-year-old daughter's age group. I of course had no choice but to hear it several times after we bought the movie and our daughter and 3-year-old son wanted to listen to the CD in the car. I was surprised beyond anything I could imagine to find that there is some serious quality among the songs that are done here. As for the movie's animation, it may be my imagination that the production skimped a bit in that area to pay for the songwriting. And of course the Barbie series' animation was already nothing to get excited about in this day of Pixar, Dreamworks, and Blue Sky producing top-notch computer-generated material. But the music itself is really a find, and I would recommend it to anyone.
