My sister and I decided to have a movie night. We chose to watch Bachelorette. Bad decision. We thought it would be a lighthearted rom-com, but couldn't even make it through the whole movie. From the very beginning of this movie, Rebel Wilson's character is constantly fat shamed and ridiculed by her own "friends". Not only are they unsupportive, but they are deeply offended that their "fat" friend is getting married before them. They humiliate her at her rehearsal dinner and bachelorette party, then ruin her wedding dress.
All in all, would not recommend.

DO AVOID IT IF YOU CAN.
I happened to be in front of the TV while this movie was on. In essence it is a story of bunch of single women whose oversized friend is getting married to an eligible bachelor.
The first thing I noticed was that every 30 seconds or so there is a loud screaming scene. Women start shouting at each other for no good reason.
Then the story is so bizarre and cheap. Women are jealous of their friend and as if they were 3 years old they act on it in the worst possible way.
There are supposed to be jokes but they are so bland and then every now and then there is a reference to a sex act which I am not sure if supposed to be a joke or not e.g. right after they have torn the bride's dress in half, suddenly you notice one of the girls is discussing how much head she was receiving from a certain partner.
There are some good actresses involved but they act so unconvincingly that you really think less of them.
It was too much for me and I stopped after watching the first half.

I think they were trying to make a female version of the hangover. It is not terrible, but I didn't really like it. The main characters are not nice people and they don't really learn from their mistakes. The crude sex jokes by semi attractive women formula has never really been for me. It is not that funny or interesting, but it is okay for light entertainment.

Two stars for somehow convincing these actors that this script was worth the permanent scar on their filmography. Although people are, indeed, this selfish; even mildly decent movies are written around relatable qualities that don't make you feel like you spent 90 minutes of your time hating the fact that you might somehow be as selfish as any of these girls. Absolutely terrible, no unique personalities, no character growth, just complete awfulness. This pretty great cast couldn't even hold the thin plot and poorly written humor "romcom" together because there is no way a single actor related to the one-dimensional aspects of this awful movie.
