This movie is clever and funny! Stephen and Patrick put together a solid cast and an entertaining storyline. They had me at the title but the movie delivered as well. Their special sauce? Witty jokes mixed with a bit of nostalgia for the 80s and a couple of jokes about Asian culture and life in Hollywood. They know how to make fun of themselves as well, Stephen looking like Lou Diamond Phillips and Patrick like the brother in La Bamba. The acting during the fight scenes looked like the real deal. Randall Park shined too. For those who like to watch "Fresh off the Boat" (also with Park), this is right up your alley. You may see more and more people walking around "Awesome Asian Bad Guys" t-shirts, stickers, etc. This has the makings of a cult following for sure. On the whole, it was a Big League flick - thanks for the home run!

My wife and I got a chance to check out AABG at a screening in DC a few months ago. We didn't quite know what to expect, but we both really liked it. It was funny, well put together, and the acting was great. It was kind of a tongue in cheek kind of humor and the actors were really great at poking fun at themselves. I'm not sure how they managed to get such well known actors on such a small budget. I was also impressed by how clean the filming and editing were. I feel like a lot of indy films that I see look like indy films, but AABG on the big screen looked as professional as any studio film coming out of Hollywood. Definitely worth checking out if it's showing in your city.

I had so much hope for this film that I backed their campaign. This review is for the script. The storyline was good and the real bad guys actor were good. I was not expecting a film-film but I I wanted to see Tamlyn and the bad guys talent to be put to better use. So disappointed they chose the easy route of following Hollywood's portrayal of women in films. Can't anyone make a movie that is clean and entertaining anymore? They could have used this opportunity to make Asian kids proud of their culture and at the same time use this opportunity to share the Asian culture in a positive way. Its not a movie for kids unfortunately. Too bad...I really wanted the film to be awesome.
