The blonde actress could not act her way out of a paper bag. I feel embarrassed for her even watching for ten minutes. And it is not just the dialogue. She would have been much better off spending her money on acting lessons instead of implants. The plot is full of holes as well.

Two very attractive but rather undernourished young women, Stephanie and Ellie (Amber Heard and Odette Yustman), are cycling across Argentina when they run into a spot of bother with some nasty locals who are abducting and transporting female tourists into Paraguay for use in the sex trade. And Soon The Darkness is an Americanised version of Robert Fuest's 1970 British thriller of the same name. I'm okay with that in principle since I imagine the original film hasn't been seen by the vast majority of people, but what I'm not okay with is the inevitable straying from Fuest's film (which was written by Brian 'The Avengers' Clemens and Terry 'Doctor Who' Nation) into typical modern, xenophobic teen horror territory. As the film progresses, the script becomes more and more predictable, and the characters dumber and dumber, making the film about as mediocre as it could possibly be. Director Marcos Efron makes good use of his rural locale, with an abandoned town providing atmosphere, and gets his two hotties into their bikinis, but my advice is, unless you're a big fan of the girls in question, check out the original instead: it also features two fine looking ladies (Michele Dotrice and Pamela Franklin), but is a much better film.

Two young American women, Stephanie and Ellie (Amber Heard and Odette Annable / Yustman, respectively), are biking through Argentina when one of them is kidnapped. As far as kidnapped-in-a-foreign land thrillers go, this is not bad, though that doesn't say much. Has a reasonable degree of character development, the build-up to the kidnapping-and-search is interesting. However, after that it is pretty much standard thriller fare - plot holes, mostly forgettable action scenes, contrived sequences.Amber Heard and Odette Yustman are OK in the lead roles. Almost as importantly, they look more than OK!Certainly nowhere near being a must-see, but not all bad either.

This is a very bad American remake of a classic British film. The original is atmospheric and has quality craftsmanship all the way thought it.This version is trashy commercial rubbish and has tacky horrible all the way through. This is full of stupid teenagers talking in an incredibly annoying way which seems to be a trademark of 'formula' films of this kind.Do yourself a favour and watch the original. It may be an oldie but it is far superior in every way.A definite 'miss'
