ajijialikuasu First of all, the animation is terrible. The wolves close up look like a wolf picture glued to the background in real life. And don't even get me started on rocks!Second of all, no real facts about wolves. It's genetically impossible for a PURE WOLF to have blue or green eyes.Third of all, they designed the Empire to be as blind as a bat just to make the movie longer.Fourth, the plot makes no sense. First the teams were at each others throats and then they let each other win, despite the fact how important it was to Flint's dad.Fifth, the movie had tons of cliches.I would not recommended this movie any time and would rather stick with Wolf's Rain.
TheLittleSongbird Made the decision, despite not caring much at all for the first 'Alpha and Omega', to see its follow-ups (yes there is a franchise) out of curiosity and as an enormous fan of animation, would see anything regardless of critical reception.'Alpha and Omega's' first sequel 'A Howl-iday Adventure' was dreadful, repeating all the mistakes/flaws from the original, amplifying those flaws, and making more along the way. Proof that 'Alpha and Omega' didn't need a sequel, let alone a franchise. The second sequel 'The Great Wolf Games' is every bit as bad, if this review is like a reiteration of my review for 'A Howl-iday Adventure' it is because the flaws here are exactly the same as previously, and the whole thing said about that film's flaws in the previous sentence applies here too, it's every bit as pointless too. The only thing that's different is that it's not based around winter/Christmas.Let's start with the animation. The animation wasn't the best in the first film but it had its decent moments. It however is 'Toy Story' compared to the animation quality here, which is not quite Video Brinquedo, Spark Plug Entertainment or 'Foodfight' bad but almost and on the same level as 'The Swan Princess' CGI films. Blocky character designs, almost creepy expressions, very flat colours, a complete lack of fluidity in movement, endless goofs as long as your arm and less than meticulously detailed backgrounds are reminiscent of computer animation and video games in their infancy, something that one does not expect at all for 2014 even for low budget when technology has advanced as much as it has.Can say no better for the music either. None of it fits with what's going on, stylistically it feels out of place and out of kilter, it's obtrusive and it's not even good music on its own. The writing is even worse, summing up in one word it's abominable. half-baked ideas and any parts that strive to be funny or poignant instead come across as eye-rollingly cheesy or cloying.Worse are the "funny" jokes and dialogue, which are not funny at all, one groans at some of the wordplay/puns and older audiences who are children at heart whenever seeing animation (like me, one is never too old to appreciate animation and it is not strictly oriented towards kids only) will question the appropriateness of some of it.Story-wise, there is not much of one at all. Like 'A Howl-iday Adventure', it is short but feels longer thanks to plodding pacing and thin plotting. The games themselves are far from great, they're poorly animated, tedious, repetitive and have no suspense or anybody worth caring about to take any sides. The characters are never engaging, they are either bland or irritating and some of them are completely pointless.Voice acting is weak all round, the first 'Alpha and Omega' at least had Hayden Panettiere giving a pretty good account of herself and Dennis Hopper. There is nobody of that calibre here, some overdo it and some act as if they weren't even trying.Overall, as far from great as one can possibly get. This franchise has serious potential of being one of the most over-milked in existence if the rest of the films continue to be this bad. 1/10, very rarely give out this rating but 'The Great Wolf Games' and its predecessor deserves it. Madame Monster I was not looking forward to another sequel to Alpha and Omega sequel. The first movie wasn't good, the second movie was nauseating and somehow they have another movie?1. This movie doesn't tell us what happened after the second movie. Movie number 2 ends with the puppies at some gas station and movie number 3 begins with them in the valley like there wasn't a second movie. 2. The animation is bad. Even for a direct to DVD movie it's bad. You can see when the animals are running they're taking bug strives but with the distance they cover it looks like they're running on ice. Plus the background in one scene flickers from one sky to another for a few seconds. The clouds and the sky color changed too. How do you get away with that?3. The new and old characters are annoying to watch and it just makes you want to turn off your TV as fast as possible. Plus why does the little pup Fleet sound like a twenty year old man? That's also another problem. the voice acting is either screeching to your ears or bizarre.4. The advice is this movie is about being the best that you can be. Sorry writers but I'm not taking advice about being the best that you can be when you're not even trying to be the best that it can be. Try fixing yourself first and then give me that lesson.5. This movie is called The Great Wolf Games but the 'games' are just a series of races. Which symbolize how lazy these filmmakers were. Why are there no other games to play? This movie is just insufferable to sit through. Don't show this to your kids. If you want a good movie that features animals show Charlotte's Web, Lady and The Tramp or 101 Dalmatians.
Brooke White I'm baffled that there is another sequel. How did we start off with a poor box office film and end up getting three sequels? This movie didn't even tell us how the Alpha and Omega (along with their pups) got back home after the last movie. That's a warning sign that these film makers are already giving up before the fight has begun.~ The animation in this movie is teasing and appalling! Just watching the animals run feels like they're running in place and random parts of the movie pop in that didn't need to be there.~ The new characters are annoying and aggravating to watch. I don't care about these guys one bit. Plus the voice acting sounds unpleasant.~ The old characters are dull, tedious and flat. The pups keep getting more annoying every time and their parents seem to not be responsible enough to raise them with proper guidance. The other characters are pointless.~The plot is a clique sports movie that just so happens to feature wolves. However why is it just a race movie? Why not do something else like a fighting competition, obstacle course or scavenger hunt? Why is it that I'm coming up with better ideas than people who get paid to have these ideas? This movie simply didn't want to 'be the best that it can be' even if that's the moral of the story. Looks like you should take some of my advice: Before you go advising others to be the best they can be you need to look in a mirror first.
