A thoroughly enjoyable comedy full of crude, rude, and offensive jokes that made me laugh and then made me feel very guilty afterwards. Probably not one for the kids, but pretty darn great for everyone else.

I really LOVED this movie. Airplane is a parody of disaster movies. While flying, both pilots and many on board get food poisoning from the fish. There is only one person left on board who is not sick and knows how to fly a plane. The problem is that he has never flown a plane this size over the years he has developed a phobia of flying a plane. He must face his fears in order to save himself, his lover, and all of the other passengers. This movie has some corny parts that I didn't find funny, but it still consistently made me laugh. I will definitely watch it again.

The movie that launched Leslie Nielsen is considered to be one of the best movies of all time, in the UK it is acknowledged as the second best comedy after "Life of Brian", and in the USA in 2010. it is chosen for preservation in National Film Registry. This film very faithfully follows screenplay for "Zero Hour!" and then upgrades it with parodies of many other, mostly "disaster", movies. Personally, my favorite is the opening scene that spoofs "Jaw", but almost every scene is a parody of something and that train of spoofs is so fast that there's no chance you could catch them all, even if you are familiar with all movies it parodies. To bring it closer to new millennium generations, this is "Scary Movie" of the '80s.7/10

Minor spoilers included: So, it's 2017 and I'm just watching this movie. Maybe the humor from the 80's was better experienced then and could be more appreciated then as opposed to now, but I didn't find this movie all that hilarious. I found it silly and more like slapstick humor. It was alright. I liked the plot though. The synopsis on the top of this website page is quite vague saying that the man is afraid to fly. It's only because of his past military experience and his flashback of them that he is not comfortable with flying. Sometimes tragedy and life experiences cause us to fear. But he was brave enough to get on the flight as his intention was to work out the relationship he had with his girl, who just happened to be a flight attendant. So he proceeded to buy a ticket and board the same plane so he could be with her. She was going to dump him. To me, this was a sweet way to work out the kinks in their relationship that was going 'who knows where'. Did it work? Did he become 'THE' hero and/or 'HER' hero? That's for the viewer, you, to decide if you choose to watch it. It's decent, but if you want laughter, watch 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' as a throwback comedy that's got all kinds of emotions for ya. It's a very funny and touching movie with Steve Martin and John Candy. Either way, you choose!
