Synopsis

I Heard a Voice is the first live DVD from AFI that was released on December 12, 2006. The concert was filmed at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California on Friday, September 15, 2006. Part of the Decemberunderground Tour, the crowd was the largest AFI had ever headlined with over 13,000 people in attendance. The title of this DVD is lifted from a line of poetry in the decemberunderground CD booklet. Underneath the song 37mm, it says: "The power went out. I turned on the radio. The power went out. I turned on the radio. The power went out. I turned on the radio....I heard a voice." The moth on the case is also from the decemberunderground booklet.

Icedooitle While AFI can be just as hated as they are loved, this film does justice to the band and will impress almost all fans, and likely attract new ones. I was under the incorrect assumption that this DVD would undoubtedly contain all songs from AFI's newest album, but in fact it is extremely well mixed. Black Sails in the Sunset, The Art of Drowning, Sing The Sorrow, and Decemberunderground, were all depicted in top form in this Long Beach concert. The behind the scenes and interview footage is exactly what you want from a music DVD and credits all the staff and the biggest fans. The track list"Prelude 12/21" "Girl's Not Grey" "The Leaving Song Pt. II" "Summer Shudder" "Kill Caustic" "The Days Of The Phoenix" "Endlessly, She Said" "A Single Second" "The Missing Frame" "Bleed Black" "Silver and Cold" "Dancing Through Sunday" "This Time Imperfect" "Death Of Seasons" "Totalimmortal" "Love Like Winter" "God Called In Sick Today" "Miss Murder" is perfect for the mixed fan base, and makes all fans feel like they are getting the time and money's worth. Due to the affordability of this DVD, all fans will be well advised to add this to their collection.
talkmuch1603 Afi: I Heard A Voice has got to be one of the best music DVD's I have ever seen. It was filmed with 23 HD cameras in Long Beach and it was beautifully done. Afi puts on a truly amazing performance filled with raw enthusiasm and pure emotion from the lead singer Davey Havok. As well as an amazing concert, there are tons of extra's such as a video montage, many photos and a in depth interview with AFI as well as members of the Despair Faction, Afi's support group. I would have to say it was one of the best films I've seen in awhile. It was crafted very well and was, well, excellent. It's a definite for any AFI fan. Good Job Afi.
