Akshay's career had blossomed in 2005 when his comedy got noticed but post 2008 his career started going downhill with flops and flops and his comedy getting repetitive, Housefull was a hit but Khatta Meetha was average while Action Replay bombed. The film had a novel concept of time travel which is new for bollywood or less seen in Hindi films hence the film was hyped but sadly it falters In fact the writers take the audience for granted, One fails to understand how the time travel will change present things? Also several scenes are too childish and bizarre and get irritatingDirection by Vipul Shah is bad, however his imagination should be applauded Music is okay, Jor Ka Jhatka was famous those days but the songs do interrupt, Camera-work is fab, the 70s era is well recreatedAkshay Kumar tries to look the part and does justice, he is superb as the bucket teeth simpleton and also later as the stylish guy Aishwarya Rai tends to overdo it Aditya Roy Kapoor who debutted in London Dreams got an imp role and does a good job Om Puri,Kirron Kher are given half baked roles, Rajpal Yadav is wasted, Ranvijay Singh fails, Neha Dhupia is average, Randhir Kapoor is okay

I don't know why Akshay Kumar is still making comedy movies. The worse part is that they are very predictable, and the ideas are stolen from Hollywood movies!! His comedy movies are just not funny!!!! The story line is weak, poor acting specially Aishwarya Rai which made me very disappointed. And what's with the bad spelling with the title? and the other thing which made me laugh (they didn't intend to make the viewer laugh) is the bad spelling in one song, just to make ladies rhyme with men they made it "MANS"! His movies are really getting low in quality. As a fan of Akshay I wish he would raise the bar of his target viewer. In conclusion this movie will remain a scar in Bollywood movies record, don't watch it.

Time machine is not an alien subject to Bollywood. "Krish" had touch- based on it to a certain degree. Had Shekhar Kapur devoted more time and conviction we would have seen Aamir Khan/ Raveena Tandon/ Naseeruddin/ Rekha in our own desi version of "Time Machine". Period drama, nostalgia, fashion, expensive sets, music, gaffs you name it, the time travel subject offers vast potential to deliver a well rounded entertaining product. Sadly "Action Replay" concentrates only on costumes (predominantly the prints and the polka dots) and the of course the sets. The screenplay is the biggest culprit and it appears as if it has been written and shot in parts making the narrative appear disjointed. Akshay Kumar:: Very bad characterisation. The underdog personality was not fleshed out properly. The hairstyle was a big downer and so were his buck teeth.Aishwarya:: Again her tomboy personality could have been worked upon. She was okay but only at a few places. Adiya Roy Kapur:: Attempts hard to come across naturally but it shows. Ranvijay Singh:: Should have watched a few more yesteryear villains (likes of Ranjeet/ Prem Chopra) to create a believable character.Randhir Kapoor:: As a mad scientist, he was OK in his job.Neha Dhupia:: Hardly any meat in the role.Om Puri & Kiron Kher:: Completely wasted.Rajpal Yadav:: A few good one-liners but predominantly irritating character. The entire team should be lauded for keeping the diversion alive in the media circles that "Action Replay" was a copy of "Benjamin Button" while they were cooking a blatant plagiarised "Back to the future" behind the closed doors. Keeping the words "Back to the future" away from the media deserves a second round of applause and perhaps a quarter of the entire budget. Music which is generally a strong points of Vipul Shah is a downer too. On the whole, "Action Replay" fails to delivers. Vipul Shah, you need to pull up your socks!!

I just finished watching action replay, and i have not given a very good rating. In my opinion, this movie was dull and predictable of what was to happen in the movie, the performance of Akshay Kumar was great as he played a loser, the costume worn in the movie matched the theme of the movie. Aishwarya Rai's performance was good, as always. Aditya Roy Kapoor's performance was good. The other actors that were in the movie was wasted, the reason I believe is the film were focusing on certain characters and the extras which were in the movie did not feature as they could have been. The songs which were played in the movie were really catchy songs and lovable. In Zor ka Jatka, the way the song was made and sang it really got annoying and I do not understand how people would be a fan of the song, it really does not bring much love into it as people tend to use it as a joke
