chrisw-17947 Even though I prefer the original since it is the best, this remake is enjoyable to watch, Rooney Mara is my favorite actress and she does an excellent job at portraying Nancy, the other actors do a well done job in the roles as well. This 2010 remake has amazing CGI, great film editing, a good soundtrack, and a good cast
undeaddt If horror cult movies keep going this way they will surely ruin their legacy. At some points, this movie is funny how bad it is and when that happens to a horror movie, you know it can't be any worse. The acting was okay for my standards, the CGI was okay also, but man, did Freddy look bad. His face was so badly made, it didn't even look like him. And of course, the script was afwul, the way the movie progressed was toxic and that made everything look worse that it actually is.
adonis98-743-186503 The spectre of a dead child rapist haunts the children of the parents who murdered him, stalking and killing them in their dreams. Jackie Earle Harley is great as Freddy Krueger despite the terrible make up that was used on his face and his more serious perfomance as Freddy even tho it's nowhere near as good as Robert's is still really good. The rest of the cast with the exception of Kyle Gallner was a mixed back especially Mara's and Cassidy's as for Dekker and Lutz? Their perfomances were Terrible. The film has some nice scares and a nice origin for Krueger's twisted past but it's also a remake with some terrible over the top kills (like the Ending) and some awful cgi (like the one with the wall). Overall it's better than most of the previous films but it's nowhere near as good as the first or Dream Warriors and New Nightmare. (5.5/10)
Gabriel Gavazzi Felix To be honest with you, I've watched this movie since it came out, when I was a child, and I didn't understand everything on it. But I've re-watched it today and I thought it was gonna be really bad. For my surprise, the movie is actually good. It's really well made, with good camera techniques and impeccable visual effects (words from someone who knows what is saying). This movie could be a horror masterpiece if they made everything as good as what I mentioned until now. But there were some several problems:-The Freddy's face changed bizarrely from the old A Nightmare on Elm Street movie. Why did they do this? Was it necessary? The Freddy's face from the old movies was absolutely better than this one. His face on this movie looks like a burned baby's face mixed with an adult face... I don't know, it's just strange.-Why does every scriptwriter wants to make a "mind blowing" script when it's not necessary? Like, the revelations you see when you're watching it are already enough. Why did they try to scare people messing up with the movie on the last seconds? Remember that I didn't gave any spoilers, this is something you'll notice when you watch it.Except for those two things that kinda messed up with it, the movie was an exceptional remake. It didn't lost the essence from the old movies. If you love horror movies just like me, then you're going to enjoy it. And yes, it is underrated (like any other horror movie).
