An unusually strong fruit fly has escaped from the U.S. Agricultural Center and invaded the Pink Panther's home, eating his fruits and sending him into a fight and frenzy. It was entertaining seeing the strong insect throwing the panther around and about, from sending him tumbling down the stairs to making him get wrapped around by fly paper. The sound effects that the Pink Panther makes while struggling with the fly was hilarious. Although the fly was powerful, it was nice to see that the panther has some tricks up his sleeve as well. It's an entertaining little cartoon, one of the better "Pink Panther vs." cartoons.Grade A-

Not among the best of the Pink Panther cartoons, but still very entertaining. Pinky does look different which may a little odd to some, and the ending is agreed rather bizarre. The animation mostly is elegantly drawn with nice colours, while wisely keeping things simple. The music is jazzy and almost seductive-sounding, serving the story and gags nicely without losing the pace, and the classic theme tune still hasn't gotten old. The gags range from amusing to very funny, never hilarious but never are you kept straight-faced either. The story is on the routine side, but it's not dull and the gags keep it afloat. As does the chemistry between Pinky and the fruit fly. Pinky, even with his different look to usual, is cool and likable with comedy coming naturally to him, while the fly is one crafty foil without being too sadistic. The voice of the TV announcer, reminding me a little of Jonathan Winters, is suitably droll. Overall, entertaining cartoon from the Pink Panther but not among his best, and a tad disappointing after 1969's almost excellent sweep of Pink Panther cartoons(though it is better than the previous cartoon Extinct Pink). 8/10 Bethany Cox

The Pink Panther is relaxing in his rural home, watching TV and munching on fruit, when his program is interrupted with a bulletin."A notice of special interest to farmers: a fruit fly mutation has escaped from the United States Agricultural Research Laboratory. The fly is reported to be unusually strong and very destructive. Fruit farmers are warned to be on the lookout for this pest. It is particularly fond of apples."The Panther clicks off the TV, and within seconds learns he has a big problem: that "pest" is in his home and has been outside. All the apples have been eaten and the fly quickly eats the apple the Panther is about to eat! He's like the termite in the recent episode "Pink Pest Control."This little buzzer is brutal. The Panther does everything he can to catch him but, like the termite, it's easier said that done. This fly is so strong that the PP has to resort to learning karate to see if he can defeat it. Earlier, the fly demonstrated its strength by dropping a 200-pound weight on the panther!Watching this, you wonder if it is even possible to beat this "Super Fly." The ending is a bit bizarre...but overall, this is a solid Pink Panther effort.

The pink panther has to deal with an almost invincible fly that likes apples. Every new plan the pink panther comes up with fails, of course, and some of those failures are pretty funny to see. Unfortunately not all of them, but it was fun enough to give it 6 out of 10.
