Was very fond of Woody Woodpecker and his cartoons as a child. Still get much enjoyment out of them now as a young adult, even if there are more interesting in personality cartoon characters and better overall cartoons. That is in no way knocking Woody, because many of his cartoons are a lot of fun to watch and more and also still like him a lot as a character. He is a lot of fun here and is never obnoxious or a jerk. One sympathises with him actually, especially when things are not what it seems. It was nice in 'A Fine Feathered Frenzy' to have a foil/partner that wasn't Wally Walrus or Buzz Buzzard for a change."Gorgeous Gal" herself is very entertaining with a voice that makes one think that she is attractive initially but is actually unattractive. As ever, the animation is great. The characters are well drawn, but even better are the rich colours, meticulously detailed backgrounds and smooth drawing.Music is another strength here. It's characterful, lushly orchestrated and is not only dynamic with the action it even enhances it. The Woody Woodpecker theme song being heard is a delight. The whole cartoon goes at a snappy pace, especially in the second half, and there are continually impeccably timed and extremely funny gags and a great atmosphere.Altogether, brilliant and one of Woody's best. 10/10 Bethany Cox

My favorite Woody Woodpecker cartoon! Gorgeous Gal has a sexy voice and her face is really cute despite her weight and age. I guess the people behind this cartoon didn't want Woody Woodpecker's fate to be that bad. The confidence she has in herself and her eagerness to make love to Woody Woodpecker just after meeting him make this all the more enticing and hilarious to the viewer, but not so much for the Woodpecker! There's several hilarious seduction attempts, such as lifting up her skirt to reveal her toothpick skinny legs and offering "Cheesecake?" Gorgeous Gal even ambushes him in a bubble bath with her naked body covered with bubbles, winking and inviting the horrified Woodpecker to join her! Followed by playfully blowing bubbles in his face with her gigantic red lips. Hysterical! She forcibly kisses him several times, later marries him and even traps him in an underwater submarine for their Honeymoon! Plenty of cartoons and live action films have abhorrent admirers, but not ones that win this big. Comedic gold!

This is the creme de la creme of newer WW cartoons! In the timeline, we are at what I call Woody version 4.0. No longer a bird of few words, he is back to speaking regularly, voiced by Gracie Stafford. He still has the green eyes too, but not for much longer. He's still a lovable never do well...thinking he can get away with sitting in an exclusive French restaurant with his own lunchbox and tipping nickels to those snooty waiters! When they bounce him, he finds a newspaper ad about a "Gorgeous Gal" who is rich and seeking to be a good looking young man's sugar mommy! If it seems too good to be true, it usually is. His mental picture of "Gorgeous Gal" is shot to pieces when he gets a look at her, and he spends the rest of the cartoon desperately trying to escape the love-sick old bird. The best moment is when he realizes she's on the TV. "How about a twosome hon?" The LOOK on his face is worth the entire cartoon!
