Shelter (6 Souls): Forensic Psychiatrist Cara Harding (Julianne Moore) doesn't believe in Multiple Personality Disorder but her father (Jeffrey Munn), also a psychiatrist, tries to shake up her thinking by introducing her to Adam (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) who is also David and Wesley. Apparently some of his physical abilities and characteristics change with his personalities. Not just a tale of a disturbed patient, this film also brings in serial killing, Appalachian Folk Magic and a curse. Good Folk Horror but with perhaps a few too many forced shocks. At 112 minutes it would have benefited from a 15 minutes cut in it's running time. Convincing acting by Moore and Meyers. 6.5/10.

Writing awful, directing questionable, and characters intelligence are disgusting.

Now if anybody knows great acting then you'll know that this movie has some top notch actors in it. The film is very invigorating and puts you on the edge of your seat. Now some might say the 1st half was better but quite frankly I believe the whole movie held up to its story. Jonathan Rhys meyers is phenomenal at switching his personalities on the drop and does it convincingly. Julian Moore the doctor who has very little belief in the supernatural is put to the test when the patient named Adam starts to test her beliefs in the unknown. Now you can say the ending which definitely leaves you thinking possibly the evil still exists within another host . Without giving too much away I believe the the actors and the story itself holds up especially when movies now these days are all reboots or remakes. This is a great chilling story of one individual who has 6 souls in his body that some have their good intentions and others some evil. It definitely isn't an Oscar award winning movie but for a horror/thriller this is definitely on the must to watch list and pay close attention. Every detail adds up.

This movie is a classic case of trying too hard. It tries too hard to be scary, it tries too hard to be unique, and it tries too hard to be good. Julianne Moore stars in this film, as a psychologist who specializes in debunking multiple personality disorders, claiming that nobody has them. Her father calls her in on a case of someone with this disorder, but the more she learns about his "personalities," the more she realizes that he embodies those who have been murdered. She then goes on a mysterious journey to find out why. This movie starts as what should be a good psychological thriller but about halfway through switches to a religious horror film, but doesn't deliver the scares. The story itself seems to have some interesting ideas, just not well executed. The actors in this film are fairly decent as well. In the end, this film suffers poorly from bad scripting, and plot holes more than swiss cheese. In all honesty, I've seen worse, but it wasn't good enough to be in my favorites.
