zephyrx1 This movie is the reason why I created my account. I found it absolutely awful and have the need to share this with the readers of this review.Let me summarize in a few words.Boring: it has no interesting story to tell, besides the classical story of a malfunctioning relationship.Annoying: 95% of the movie plot consists of two people having an argument, not getting along, or being bored. Not funny: I understand enough of French and American culture to claim to understand its humor, if there is one. But there is absolutely none. I vaguely smiled twice during the entire movie.Exaggerated: I just come home from a week in Paris. The people are absolutely not like shown in the movie (they are all shown to be assholes).Very kitsch: The "lessons" the character of Julie Delpy has learned by the end of the story couldn't be more kitsch. She has now understood the world - fantastic! Don't spend your time on this movie. I came to watch it because I'm a huge fan of the Before Sunrise-Trilogy with Julie Delpy. But this movie, seriously, is just so much crap!
rogerdarlington In 1995 and 2004, the French actress Julie Delpy starred (with the American Ethan Hawke) in two movies set in major cities over a short period in which the two lead characters talk a great deal together: "Before Sunrise" and "Before Sunset" - both of which I loved. Clearly, Delpy - who writes and directs as well as acts - was inspired by writer and director of the two "Before ..." movies Richard Linklater and here takes on all three roles in this 2007 movie, supported in the thespian department by the American Adam Goldberg."2 Days ..." has a similar style and feel to the "Before ..." offerings - which is good - but there are differences: the American-Gallic couple are already an item, they are far from the only characters in the film, there is a bit more time and movement to play with, and there are more explicit sexual references. I really enjoyed it - insightful as well as amusing. All credit to Delpy who, as well as the duties already mentioned, produced and edited the movie, did some song writing and singing, and cast her mother and father as her character's parents.
SnoopyStyle French photographer Marion (Julie Delpy) and American interior designer Jack (Adam Goldberg) are visiting her crazy sexually inappropriate parents. Their relationship is having trouble and meeting her flirtatious ex-boyfriends and inappropriate parents does not help.Julie Delpy writes, directs, and apparently does everything else in her little indie. This film takes place in Paris over a 2 day period. The parents (Julie's real life parents) are hilarious. There is a lot of fun making Jack uncomfortable. And Adam Goldberg is always great at playing being uncomfortable. The meetings near the end are problematic coincidences. I'm willing to give that a pass. It is a movie after all. What makes this film is the good fun we have at Jack's expense.
Michael Arvedlund The more movies I watch starring Julie Delpy, the more I become a totally devoted fan. I simply love this super talented french actor, director script writer etc. In this movie she is much more than just the head actor, and she shows that she has Monty Python quality although the theme is rather serious. Watch it, please...The wonderful thing is that I can still see true love Celine from sunrise/sunset in her, in these rather desperate possibly more (European) realistic movie. She shows in an authentich way the sometimes HUGE difference between Amerixan and European people and their way of living out their relationships. Big scope to include her wonderful french parents in this movie. Her father is hilarious. They are VERY very European and French, super lovely, and if you don't like them you may simply just happen to have the BIG misfortune to be born in USA. I am sorry for you. Watching the movie will change everything for you in the right direction. Please do. And please go to Europe on your next trip.
