Ole Sandbaek Joergensen This story has been told many times before, the high school reunion, 10 years after graduation. Can the bonds be broken, are we changed or are we really the same as back then, can we make a mens or do we fall back into the role from ten years ago because it is in the blood or nature or however you want to describe it.This is a very enjoyable flick, nothing new to the story, but a good cast with great characters and different personalities, this is the tail of an ordinary ten year high school reunion, I guess. Any way, I was entertained and it was very nice for a relaxing time on a easy going afternoon. So you might enjoy it also, it is simple and to the point, nothing elaborate or hidden messaging.
juneebuggy This was a surprisingly solid little film, giving a heartfelt take on growing up through a 10 year high school reunion. Some of the story lines are better than others and there's nothing super ground-breaking here, but ultimately a good movie that I found relatable. The entire thing takes place over one night with a fantastic ensemble cast. Lots of familiar (young) faces as we follow a group of friends who find that a decade later they haven't changed as much as they thought. Much drinking is done throughout as old flames are rekindled (Channing Tatum & Rosario Dawson), a bully (Chris Pratt) tries to make amends and regresses, rivals (Justin Long & Max Minghella) compete for the affections of a popular beauty and a musician longs for the crush who inspired his hit single.Chris Pratt kinda stole the show for me, he plays a sad, frustrating loser of a character, the type of guy we all know/knew and avoid while still somehow calling a friend. I enjoyed Channing Tatum and his reunion with high school love Rosario Dawson while he contemplates proposing to real life wife (Jenna Dewan-Tatum). Justin Long & Max Minghella provide a bit of comic relief that ultimately becomes bittersweet. The credits at the end are worth watching as they show the video shot over the course of the reunion. 8/9/15
Pamodh De Silva One of my friends suggested me this movie and I've got to say, it made my school years rush back into memory as I was watching it. I personally think that movie is really underrated by users due to under popularity issues. If you are hoping to watch a movie with some of your old buddies (perhaps on a reunion), I'd totally recommend to you this movie. It'll be somewhat of a mellow one throughout but it will be enjoyable and it would certainly be able to bring back those high school memories. Even if it seems like too much information is stacked up into your brain so fast in the beginning, keep on watching till the end because all the pieces fit in nicely together to set up one of the most beautiful movies that you might stumble upon.P.S. The soundtracks are just placed beautifully!
Film Watchin Fool What you can expect from 10 Years is a predictable movie with a solid cast that revolves around the night of a 10 year high school reunion. It is well acted and you know where it is going early on, but it is still somewhat entertaining.Acting/Casting: 6.5* - The cast is made up of some solid actors (Justin Long, Channing Tatum, Chris Pratt, Ari Graynor, Jenna Dewan, Rosario Dawson, Aubrey Plaza), but none of them are going to wow you in this film. They play their respective roles well and believably, which is enough to make for a above average showing.Directing/Cinematography/Technical: 5* - I don't know that this genre of film can be directed or done anything but average. The story is obvious and blatant, which makes the directing pretty straight forward. The set is done well for a 10 year high school reunion and the music is solid.Plot/Characters: 5* - Again, the story is blatant and predictable, which makes the film not quite as entertaining as it could have been. Not only is the story given away early on, but the characters are fairly stereotypical as well.Entertainment Value: 5.5* - I enjoyed the movie and it was worth a watch, but I don't know that I would tell anyone to go out of their way to see it. If it happens to be on while you are flipping, it might help fill an hour and a half.My Score: 6.5+5+5+5.5 = 22/4 = 5.5Email your thoughts to [email protected]
