Michael Ledo Brett Reynolds (Tom Pelphrey) is fired, dumped, and broke in one day. He gets a new phone number and through a series of circumstances gets the old recent number of basketball star Tyson St. James played rather unconvincingly by Method Man. Brett plus his two friends accept the perks that go along with having that number. Both Brett and St James, who is a married player, desire Nikki Page (Natalie Hall) the owner's daughter. The film is a combination of a teen sex comedy and bad romance. The story line was different, but the film humor lacked freshness, except for maybe Priscilla Lopez the off beat mom. Worth a rental for lovers of the genre.Guide: F-word, sex, nudity.
aaronjtml This movie is based on a true story about a guy down on his luck, changing his phone number, only to find himself with a bunch of text messages meant for a celebrity basketball player (played by Method Man). With the exception of Method Man, the actors in this movie are unknown. I did not know any of them, but overall it was a decent movie. The story was original and the only reason I watched it until the end is because it wasn't some remake or some predictable story. While this is commercialized as a comedy, there's also a tad of romance that makes this story interesting and a couple of funny parts. Unfortunately, it wasn't a PERFECT storyline... However, I suspect the budget for this movie wasn't very high. If this was a remake - I'd give it a 4/10.The movie is basically just the main character cashing in on the success of the basketball player (Method Man). There are no amazing action scenes or extremely funny takes. However, it is original! So, 7/10 stars!
kittyboo-10569 This was a light hearted movie about a typical basketball playing dog! He eventually gets his in the end but it's pretty funny when you see how it happens. It is a nice change to watch Method Man in this role. He's not playing a character that you would normally see him playing, like not necessarily a villain in that kind of sense of the word. All of the other actors are pretty good too. This won't be the best movie you see by far but if you do happen to pick it up at Redbox like I did it's definitely worth the $2 to watch it. This would make a perfect Netflix and chill movie. Lol it's light-hearted enough where I don't think most would be offended by the humor, the little bit of violence, or his dogish ways.
allchoice This film served as great comedic entertainment with its colorful cast and numerous plot twists. The plot centers on an aspiring sports caster, Brett Reynolds, and his accidental acquisition of a huge celebrity's, old cell phone number. Along with a couple of friends, Brett experiences the privileges only reserved for the most influential in society. The characters were relatable to people we've crossed paths with in life and that made it all the more enjoyable. Method Mad did a great job stepping outside of his musical persona and captured the role of a basketball superstar. Tom Pelphrey, the down on your luck sports caster is someone you want to root for and he develops nice on screen chemistry with Canadian actress Natalie Hall. Overall, this is a great movie with a mix of laughs and a love story all rolled into one. It's worth the watch with a group of friends!
