Biography

Mimi Mariani was born Troely Callebaut on 8 June 1925 in Malang, Dutch East Indies. She completed MULO education. During the Japanese occupation, Mariani joined the play group "Warnasari," as a performer. Then he participated with "Bintang Surabaja," "Pantja Warna" and finally with Netty Herawati was active in "Panggung Bhakti artist." The first time he played in the film "Lenggang Djakarta" (1953) as the main character and since then until the end of 1954, this Belgian-Indonesian child and the aunt of Doris Callebaut has starred in 10 films, including "Kassan" (1953), "Machluk Raksasa" (1953), "Rahasia Sukudomas" (1954), "Debu Revolusi" (1954). After starring in "Sri Asih" (1954), Mariani married Turino Djunaedy in 1955. She then played in several films, including: "Oh, Ibuku" (1955), "Melati Sendja" (1956), "Sri Kustinah" (1956) and "Delapan Pendjuru Angin" (1957). After the film industry crisis and her divorce from Djunaedy, Mariani didn't play much anymore, and that too as a Supporting Actor. It was last known he played Auxiliary in "Limapuluh Megaton" (1961). Mariani died at her residence in Ir. H. Juanda street, Central Jakarta, on May 1, 1971, due to cancer at the age of 45. Until the end of her life, Mariani married to her second husband, Yusman Effendi, the owner of the Titipure dispensary.
